Someone posted on our board that we have been talking to N Murphy and his parents, could be a left field pick at #5

I hope not

I think that kid is a natural footballer with great hands, a great understanding of the ball in flight and a lovely shoe.

Reminds me of Fyfe with a better kick

And it wouldn't surprise me one bit if our lot took him, will certainly have people gasping ( read melt )

Yeah I tend to watch more the positioning, where they place the ball, how they move their opponent.
He has something worthwhile.

Looking at his highlights again he moves like Luke McPharlin

"Medium forward with excellent natural leap for the ball, is strong overhead and is a clean mark out in front. Agile and versatile type with good goal sense being a prolific goal scorer at Brighton Grammar before playing for the Dragons. Outstanding cricketer having represented Victoria at underage level. Ran the 2km time trial in 6:21 at the Combine, which placed him among the best performers."

Do you reckon he is worth a #5 pick ?

I must admit I haven't seen him play so I can't really comment on where he should go

No Idea.
Got no idea how much he gets the ball etc, but looking at the draft machine, you've got a kid who has endurance, reasonable height, great hands and a very economical kick, that goes where it should.

Fyfe's been my mental comparison as well, I've kept it to myself though because it's one of those "plays like Fyfe", "next Pendlebury" type calls.

Wow that is a very sharp time for the 2km, it's gonna be a fascinating draft

Yeah.
I think he hits the ball high in flight and launches at the ball.
The screamer he dropped reminded me of Luke McPharlin.
He knows where the ball is going and when to meet it.
At 80kg he looks skinny but must be heavier than he looks...188cm, does he have another 3-4cm growth? Does he have gigantic hands like Fyfe had?

The thing that impressed me was his foot.
His kicking is smooth and economical and accurate, and even in the one or two he missed, he missed to the right side, i.e he put the ball in front of the guy he was kicking too.

I wouldn't cry many tears if they reached for him at 5 if he has shown some ball winning ability.
His highlights are forward and back, be interesting if he had any midfield stints

Big hands or not, he takes the grabs.

I'm really keen on him at 9, especially since it's been rumoured we'd pass on Coffield if he were there, and the main one we seemed to be linked to is Naughton.

Yeah big hands might be an indicator of some more growth to come

I’m not the one broadcasting it.....but you have only seen Moore CHB in one game in which we destroyed the Demons.

Where does this myth that Moore played CHB against the Demons last year come from? He played forward that game, like he did every other game of the year. The difference being, that on occasion when Melbourne got a run on, Moore did swing back into defence to shore things up, just like Sam Reid does for the Swans. By my estimation he would have spent at most 15 minutes in defence...

I really like the look of Coffield, oozes class and poise, fast off the mark and leadership qualities

Someone is going to get a gem with him

Draft article in today's HUN by Cheeseburger saying that Longmire is understood to be coming down to meet and interview Lachie Fog at his home today (as they say he did with Ollie Florent in the week leading up to the draft last year) and that Sydney are also meeting Higgins.

Either one I'm happy with.

As long as it's not Brander or Haynes I'm happy!

Of interest, how do Swans fans feel about your haul in the Blues BF Phantom (on our board)? I tried to address needs and get best available while being realistic as to who might actually fall. 3 picks in at this point.

Just had a look,

your work was not to my tastes :p
LOB, Clavarino and Wooler have not been on my radar, infact I probably think LOB+ Clavarino are busts

don't think we really need a KPD either

but hey, we probably pick them all up now
