Footy is natural to them though.
by the time they've reached this point if their manager is any good the interview process is pretty familiar as well. Although that specific environment would be a bit daunting still. Probably more so with a possibly higher profile head coach there at one or two other clubs.

Why don't we try for a trio of Dandenong Stingrays.
1. LDU
12. Hunter Clark
18. Aiden Bonar

Pick 19 can be used to trade for Charlie Cameron.

Pick 42 we use to match a bid on Ballenden.
I would love this draft.

Funny observation I have noted is the apparent given that Vic Country boys will not want to 'go home' because they don't have one. Especially for the Stingrays.. Dandenong is a suburb of Melbourne and everyone who plays for them will live in Melbourne itself or down the coast like LDU does, which is still essentially Melbourne (1hr on freeway from Rye to central Melbourne).. I would think kids from this area are just as likely to wanna go home as Vic Metro boys.

yeah Doc was even worse, he was a true Gippsland boy who lived a few hours from Melbourne but 'went home' to Carlton. Why we are on him, I understand all of the factors in play and it should be water under the bridge but Doc and Polec seemed the most mercenary of the lot and I will never forgive them..

I think most people being probed in every aspect of their life by a large group of people would feel quite daunted by the experience.

You do realise just how bad our previous admin/coaching staff were? They hardly communicated with the younger players.

Then why did none of this leak out at the time?

Re Polec: he had a brief conversation with a family member at the Family Day the year before he pulled the pin and made no secret of his wish to go home to Adelaide to be with his twin [?] brother.

Must admit that at the time I thought, wow, the Club has really done its homework in recruiting this bloke, and not only that, he's more than happy to spread the good news.

I don't think anyone particularly cared at the time. There were some interesting stories about Yeo too, a few people on here have mentioned it in the past.

Good foot skills for a big unit. Would love to see him turn out like Patton in a few years.

Definitely someone I liken him too in some aspects. Sort of a combo between Tippett and Patton. Obviously I'm no pro etc but have probably seen him live more than any other non-lion

Saw him live at the Grand Final...he's 100% not a defender at the next level o_O

Which is fine, but think it may take quite a few years for him to learn KPF leading patterns etc.

Kicking and Marking is very very good which is as important as the above :thumbsu:

I don't think his leading patterns are all that horrible - will definitely take time but I think he has footy smarts and with the right development he will be fine. As you said, his kicking, marking and handballing (adding Handballing as his handballing is just as good imo) is very, very good so half the battle is done. If he has commitment he will be a good forward.

I'd heard this from multiple sources that Voss pretty much brushed any players that weren't part of the starting 22 week in week out. Imagine you're an 18 year old of your head coach who you would have grown up idolising treats you like trash.

Not sure we wanted to highlight the better aspects of his game to the world. ;)

With confidence and the right development; I think he turns out to be a Corey McKernan type which is perfect for us :thumbsu:

Agility the only major worry I see with Connor...looks like Leppa turning back in the day :tractor:

Good point and probably true. There's a bit of difference between LDU and Lewy Taylor.

Would Stephenson be the high upside option?

Rayner has higher upside but has a lot of questions over him. I'd be very surprised to see him at non vic club next year. Stephenson's had a very good year and the question marks over him aren't exactly deserved. Disposal Efficiency is a massively overrated stat. But developed right, he's a match winner.
