I struggle to see the appeal in taking both Fogarty and Bailey with 15 and 18. A pure and bigger midfielder would be more to our needs, leaves us lacking from this draft when that's our biggest need is a strong bodied midfielder

He's 68 kg's, hardly a strong or imposing figure at AFL level.Who's the bigger midfielder we should be taking?
Bailey is strong. He'll play like Brent Moloney.

Agree, unfortunately it appears there are no big bodied midfielders really rated around pick 18.I struggle to see the appeal in taking both Fogarty and Bailey with 15 and 18. AFL website has him at 68Bailey is listed at 81kg on the draft central website. Looking at him, i'd say that's more accurate than 68kg.
Have you seen the kid? No way he's 68kg.AFL website has him at 68
Strange comparison...Who's the bigger midfielder we should be taking?

A bit of useless info, Miers is a lions supporter apparently
Must be something in the water down Geelong way. Not sure I'd recommend drinking it, but still it's working for us.A bit of useless info, Miers is a lions supporter apparently
Nothing like Moloney both in playing ability or physical tools. Why?
That's why you don't rely on outdated figures.

I quite like the comparison to Moloney. Bailey is strong in the core, has a nice long kick but not particularly neat, barges through packs with what he can with his size; should be able to translate that to AFL when he puts on some size in a few years and he even has a running style that looks a lot like Beamer.
Fogarty is the prototype small pressure forward, a tackling machine. 9.3 tackles a game at Champs; 9.7 tackles a game at TAC cup.Fogarty is more outside i think, though his CP numbers are quite good. He will start in the forward line, where Bailey is purely a midfielder.

Tac cup CP 78 (45%) UP 96; 25 possessions per game average.
Champs CP 23 (38 %) up 36; 19 possessions per game average
Fogarty gets the ball more than Rayner at both levels, so is hardly outside, which I realise you acknowledge.
It's interesting to compare Fogarty's stats with Rayner, who only beats Fogarty in the contested possession ration and goals kicked, from a quick sqizz.
