Actually funnily enough, l dreamed about talking to Dow and he said that out of any club he would like to go to Brisbane because when he travelled to Ausralia, the Lions were helping him a lot. It even had a backstory where we were doing some run for a school or something lol. However, l rarely remember my dreams so l take this as prophecy
I think we both need more hobbies ;)

Wow Ruse liked your post. I didn't think Ruse liked anything on this planet. :)
My greatest achievement yet

We have so many wonderful potential captains and leaders....Harris,Berry,Witherdon, Skinner....this is scary time...we are coming, big time.
I agree, and they all appear to not be afraid to say that they are keen to be here and if they stick together they can help the team rise up the ladder. It amazing what a year can do with the right people in place.

That stupid? Look how well we drafted last year without pick 1. We also preferred Schache to Weitering the year before and it didn't effect our other picks. There's also no standout number 1 pick this year.

Ridiculous to think not tanking is stupid

OMG how can you wanna tank are you serious pal ..... gets you nowhere look at dees ! Winning games is a must imo builds culture have Blues Suns and North at gabba can will all 3 hopefully end up with 5-6 wins

GO LIONS

Jackess's post appeared to be anti-tanking.

Mate, jackess was arguing against tanking.

Welcome to BF. Looks like you'll fit right in.

I am with a couple on our board that we need pace, explosiveness and/or a point of difference with our first 2 picks. Eg. Cameron Rayner, Lochie O'Brien, Jaidyn Stephenson, Jack Petruccelle, Jack Higgins.

Although if Nick Coffield is available (unlikely) with our 2nd pick I would go him there, the best user of the football in this draft crop, dare I say Witherden like.

There is also a possibility that Coffield/Dow or someone else could surge up the rankings ah la Tim Taranto/Clayton Oliver and be too good to refuse with our first pick.

Agree. Pace ,explosiveness exactly what the lions are looking for.
Depending on how the cards fall C Rayner and J Stephenson if he is available with garner next cab off the rank.
Also want hawthorn's next gen ruck player is it olongo? Just seen one of his games and really liked it with our last pick .Hopeful we get an end of 1st round pp again this year.

Nice article, liked the part about his commitments this year and the time that he is putting into his schooling and football. I especially liked the part about accessing a private trainer. They're small things but in AFL land would mean more IMO. Find it interesting about why AFL clubs would be querying about the surfing. I thought that they were wanting their players to do things outside of football. On that note, natural footer which would suit surfing on his forehand with the breaks up here. Would get the club to throw that in when they do their interview with him.

As I understand it some extreme sports are pretty unpopular with the coaches due to the risk players might injure themselves in the process. Surfing injuries are common enough that it wouldn't be that surprising to see surfing joining the list.

I would challenge that to some extent if clubs do perceive it negatively, Surfing will have numerous benefits that offset some of the risks. Increased core strength that lessens the risk of back/abdominal type injuries (particularly Osteitis Pubis type problems), improved balance and improved well being from a mental perspective.
