I don't think any of those things, but I do think you're an extremely negative person.
One of my favorite lines is if people are talking about you it's none of your business. Also live up to your own expectations of yourself not anyone else's.

One of Jeffrey Dahmer's greatest thoughts
Matt Ling still living at home and attending St Joey's in GeelongSchool footy very highly rated in Victoria.
Not only do the private schools have most of the Vic Metro kids playing private school footy, many of the top Country boys are boarding at Vic Metro private schools and playing private school footy like Paddy Dow, Jarrod Brander, Lochie O'Brien, Charlie Spargo, and Matthew Ling. Or travelling long distances each day and playing for Vic metro private schools like LDU and Oscar Clavarino.

I fart in your general direction, you English pig dog: Monty Python
Trading away 18 would be a very brave move if we intend to match on Ballenden.Trade 18, draft with 1 + 14, then match Ballenden, then shut up shop. Done, dusted, simple.
Also pray to the almighty one that Port and GWS finish outside the top 4 and lose their Elimination Finals (pick 14 turns into pick 11).
Rayner tanking to try and "slide" to a Melbourne club in the draft?
First one I could see as a possibility but not the second. Second scenario could be for possibly 8/9 or 10. I still see GWS losing players and being the ones we will look to deal with again. As it stands now a couple of deals I could see us doing-
1) Pick 1 for North Melbournes picks 3 and 20 if we were confident the player we wanted would still be available at 3, similar to McCluggage last year.
2) Picks 14 and 18 to either the Dockers pick 5 or Pies pick 6.
Get those deals done and we go into draft night with picks 3 (Dow/Rayner) pick 6 (O'Brien/Stephenson/Higgins/Coffield) and 20 to match Ballenden if no bid comes we grab one of (Worpel/Naughton/Constable/Clark).
Thats getting closer! As it stands now a couple of deals I could see us doing-

Not sure I see Berry youngest cracking the top 10 next year.I just want Tommy Berry... he will be right in frame for our first pick next year as well IMO if his form is anything to go by.
I know you prefaced your post with the 'deals I could see us doing', what is it that makes you think that deal would appeal to Nth given there is no clear standout for pick 1?As it stands now a couple of deals I could see us doing-

I saw a small list of 10/15 players that are looking extremely good and to further add to this is that Vic Metro (bar the King twins) didn't play any underagers and they usually have the majority of first round players. There's about 8 players from SA, WA and the Allies that should be first rounders and that's not even taking into account Sam Walsh and Oscar Brownless from Vic C. All in all (and without seeing him) Tom Berry could be around our second round pick. Not sure I see Berry youngest cracking the top 10 next year.
)If we end up with pick 1 and North pick 3 they may rate Cameron Rayner as the standout and wont want to risk the team with pick 2 (Blues?) taking him.I know you prefaced your post with the 'deals I could see us doing', what is it that makes you think that deal would appeal to Nth given there is no clear standout for pick 1?
You been to Knightmares PD board lately briz? I asked the question of him re Tom Berry and he rates him as a better prospect than Jarrod Berry. Not sure I see Berry youngest cracking the top 10 next year.
Ballenden has enormous upside. His game on the weekend may well have changed a few minds about him. Time will tell.Ahhh but I wouldn't match a bid in the first round for Ballenden, because I don't think he's worth more than pick 18. So to me with regards to a Ballenden bid it wouldn't matter whether it was traded or not!
I think we will stick to our plan and continue to draft as many top 20 kids as possible. If we trade anyone in, I think it will be for next year's 2nd, 3rd or this year's third. We had a good draft last year, Hugh, Berry, Withers and Cox are all looking very good. I think we can afford to go a bit thinner this year. Top 3 pick i think we keep and take another top player. Cameron IF it happens is going to cost us something. Assuming we dont get anything extra from other trades, we will need to use maybe 18 for Cameron. It probably is a little over, but not by heaps. could see us getting a 3rd rd pick back maybe to help even it out. This will only be used for points in matching a Ballenden bid, again, assuming he goes high enough. Dont want carry over points into next year.
Getting another top 3 youngster and Cameron would be a great net return from this draft. Fills some important needs for our side. Ballenden would be the cream on top, essentially he is upgrading a freeman or Close. our KP depth is good, but he will add some better quality to it.
Would have to assume Freeman or Close would look for more opportunity so might provide us with some trade value in the near future.
