Corrected.....Hawks however ,needing class mids badly, will be very interested.

Their first pick (Carlton's second rounder) at the moment is nominally 22. I'm assuming that wouldn't get it done.

They were saying the same of Berry,a beautiful kick of the footy.
yet I recall bigfooty draft watchers saying it was his weakness. I agree he has a nice long penetrating kick, action is sound and the fact is he hasn't missed a lot of targets. No idea why he went at pick 17. An absolute steal.

At what point do we start leaking stories about Ballenden getting up to naughty stuff at school camp?

I heard Ballenden threw a kebab at a guy in a wheelchair.

That whole kicking stuff was bull crap. The worst you could say is that he went the long and deep option. I guess there's something people saw wrong with his kicking action which seemed more rushed than anything but it seemed like a strange thing to focus on from a guy who was dominating the play through intercepts and rushing play as an underager.

I know right? I always heard negative things about his kicking. So far his kicking and hand balling have been bloody good.

Dunno what scarenberg did wrong. Another glenelg player i see a bit of. He's been in the best players last 2 games I've seen. Would be been a lock if he was in this years draft

He looked okay two weeks ago and getting used to the rhythm I felt. Bucks has his own template though so whatever.

There was a discussion on one of the Podcasts post draft about why Scharenberg didn't get drafted. I can't remember exactly what was said, but I have a feeling it had something to do with lack of pace and endurance. He wasn't fit enough.

This is to stay here only, but I also heard Ballenden has an unhealthy fetish with cigarette machines.

I'm at games watching the players out on the field or listening to their coaches rather than interacting with them or in the rooms interviewing them pre/post game.

Though, you can often get a sense just watching them either out on the field or in the huddles what they're like. eg. Davies-Uniacke in huddles has a very serious, locked in persona, not overly vocal or chatty.

This year, James Worpel has been one of the standouts in terms of being vocal out on the field, encouraging teammates etc.

That's funny I thought endurance was one of the things clubs didn't worry too much about. Couple of preseason & they can fix that right up. Whereas poor skills are hard to change.

My only criticism of him is he makes some bad decisions at times usually coming out of defence, a bit Daniel richesque. But sometimes that can be a product of what's up the field

I'm torn between who we should grab with pick 1 (assuming we don't trade it).

Reyner looks like a player with X Factor who could be a match winner. In the same token he may never have a true 4 qtr midfield tank therefore carries significant risk for the price we'd pay.

LDU looks a much more sure thing - a talented mid who at worst would be a B grader. He looks to have little to no hurt factor though and a player like that may not be our best choice.

Lots to consider no doubt. Quigley who'd be your choice of the two?

Think it might be a bit early to say little to no hurt factor about LDU especially based on last weeks game. Couple more games to go of viewing but do see where you are coming from in regards to Rayner. Looks like a match winner definitely.

If only we get a 1st round PP... won't happen but selecting both Raynar and LDU will set us up for a decade. Still plenty of time to play out. Also worth remembering that Noble and Co. are shrewd traders so I won't be surprised to see some interesting trades with our picks. Could have 3 first rounders come draft time...
