Honestly after seeing Conor first hand I am thrilled we're drafting him. He looks such a complete player. He covers the ground well when given the license to run, is not afraid to hit tackles/contests hard and is Elite by foot (not sure by hand). He can play forward, back or ruck which is huge when you think about having 3 of Ballenden, Andrews, Mcstay and Hipwood who can play will forward and back. Our versatility is huge in the kpp stocks.

Yeah after watching his game vs the Swans reserves I was like "yep, I'd take him with Port's pick happily".

He's fourth round material. Wait, no, rookie draft. Er, pre-season. Hang on, midseason.

I'd match a bid for him anywhere from pick 10 onwards. Looks to be a very good prospect and a Queenslander which makes him very valuable to us. Hopefuly he has a quiet last few games and slides a bit more

how will we fit all these highly rated talls into the team? So strange that next year Schache could seriously be depth if what I saw from Connor against the Swans in anything to go by. KPP depth is insane.

Maybe the talk of trading Schache isn't that much of a stretch?

Surplus of quality talls is the best trade currency you can get.

If we keep taking them and developing them well we can own the first round of the draft for years to come.

I agree with your theory, but not sure that we've got many quality talls coming through the Academy over the next 3 years or so, aside from Tozer in 2019 (although 16 is too early to accurately rate kids) and maybe Conor McFadyen next year.

Certainly no talls in sight for 2020 right now.

Any Zorko's lurking thereabouts?

Some very good players, potentially at least, coming through in the 15-16 years bracket, but things can change quickly for better or worse between now and them turning 18 so I wouldn't bother putting up names just yet.

As long as coincides with us rising up the ladder. Be good to get in some top end talent through the academy when our first draft pick isn't as high.

Are we? - would we match picks 1,2 or 3 for him?.

Irrelevant question considering nobody will bid on him that early.
Irrelevant, because Richmond do not have their first pick until pick 15, currently.

Exactly this. No better draft currency than having quality KPFs excess to needs.

Not purely with KPFs, but GWS have been using this strategy for a couple of years - turn over some of those original sweet, sweet early picks regularly (the ones they don't need) and keep the good picks coming. They can milk it for a decade yet. Then they have a steady flow from their academy as well.

If we get some good currency out of our academy then we should do the same.

Kangaroos seem to have an appetite for our young
They will have pick 2 once we beat them in the last round. And they r in just as much need for mids as us. Maybe with their second pick, pick 19 they will have a go if he is still there. Or Brander at pick 2 but i doubt it.

Richmond will hand over their dignity this off-season for anyone 6'5 or above, and many clubs have mismanaged their lists recently, it could be a plum spot to be.

Hopefully we get a late pick for Jono Freeman, I wonder how many Pies remember that 4 goal game against them?
