Well done Crusha indeed. Thompson seems like one of those making a late run, a la Clayton Oliver. Very impressive on the weekend. Great combination of pace and contested footy. Interesting to see if he can maintain it in the finals. Certainly has an AFL ready body

No. No he isn't. Oliver went to the National Combine, Thompson is off to the 'Rookie Me Combine' with only 1 club nominating him.

He's slow & Bendigo Pioneers were actually woeful on the weekend. Watch his highlights and tell me how someone can't defend him & he marks all alone inside 50.

I was at the game, I don't need to watch highlights (the pic is mine). He isn't slow but I agree that the Pioneers were very average, a point I made in another thread. Jack Higgins on the other hand is slow, although he has more tricks.

I'm starting to cool on Dow a bit (still think he's the best fit though). Just don't see him as pick 1 material, but an argument can be made that no one else really deserves it either. He has good pace and attack of the contest but still IMO is a bit scrubby with his disposals in close and looks a bit rushed. I don't think he has the composure of a Cerra or LDU which is so important in the modern game with high pressure footy.

It's so even the top end and will be a massive job by our list strategist and management team.

Thompson's slower than Higgins. The testing numbers back that up too. One of the slowest 20m times in the TAC Cup for a mid. I saw the game too - didn't jump in here to bash. But he isn't bolting at club land put it that way.

Which is why I reckon they will be angling to turn pick 1 into two first rounders if it can be done.

I am still very uninspired by this years draft pool.

Rayner will go number #1 to us, he's the best player in the draft. Eventually will be midfielder once he builds a tank.

Considering your posts are expressed in a manner consistent with a person stating facts pretty much every time. ........
Are you saying you want me to tone down my opinion and pussy foot around??

If Rayner is the best available it's really disappointing that we finally have the 1st pick and the bloke is being difficult.

It's the reality of where this "national" competition is at.

Not at all, but that doesn't mean that every post needs to be delivered as if you are providing us inside information when you are actually just giving your opinion. People see through that sort of thing pretty quickly

If Brissy don't want to take the risk on Rayner, "in my opinion" they would then trade the pick. IMO they won't draft somebody else first just because he fits the system and born in the bush and then watch Rayner get picked next and watch him star in the AFL straight off the bat while we spend two years developing another player in the NEAFL. For the record if we had finished 16th and had the 3rd pick we'd pick Dow or LDU. In this situation Rayner would be gone already #1 to somebody else.
