Constable ran it a second slower than Rayner. Granted he was apparently carrying some injuries last month but for a guy who was already seemingly sliding and had a bit of a reputation for being a little flat footed at stoppages, you would think that would drop him even further.

Think this takes Rayner out of the equation. Also saw a stat today that had LDU's contested/uncontested possession splits surprisingly low, which left me a bit colder on him too. Brayshaw firming

Take Brayshaw at one, the other Brayshaw in the rookie draft and then we have three of them, enticing for the fourth one later.

It's possible we could take Hamish Brayshaw in the rookie draft, but only if we pass on out last selection in the national draft. Might as well just take him in the national draft if we want him, but I'd be taking the best player available at that pick, which might not be Hamish. Reasonable chance Jack Payne will slide to our last pick and we can take someone who has slid as our mid 40s pick, like we did with Sam Skinner. I'll be pretty surprised if we end up with both Brayshaws.

Up to this point I thought Rayner would be our first pick. Now I'm not so sure. If he tanked then we don't want him. If that's the best he can do then that's a worry.

Well I after that display I don't want him. Shows he's either un professional or just won't have the fitness base required for midfield role. Shame I had him on par with LDU but now it looks like brayshaw is our man at one. Just on Rayner I wasn't there so couldn't judge his effort... Might not have tanked he just could be that bad.

Have never wanted Rayner, but that time ends any talk of midfield potential in my view. I will be happy with Brayshaw, but would prefer LDU, or Dow, who has genuine pace. We need the best midfielder at one... or at least someone with the potential to be an A grade 200 game midfielder. I'm confident we won't pick Rayner, I don't think he would be top 5 in other draft classes.

Tiny fraction slower but much better endurance.

While Brayshaw is well-rounded, he arguably doesn’t have as much X-factor and goalkicking capabilities as Rayner and Dow, or as much explosiveness as Dow, or as much class as Cerra. //
Brayshaw was arguably the best-performed prospect at this year’s national draft combine with four top-10 finishes, including the best result in the new gruelling yo-yo test (22.4) and fourth-best result in the 2km time trial (6:14).

From only watching his highlights package, he looking pretty quick. Burned straight past the man on the mark

If they're going to draw a line through Rayner, then Stephenson's the man for me too.

I don't see anything Brayshaw does that Stevo can't do as well if not better.

The same Stephenson who bought a tattoo gun and started tattooing on himself and his friends? That alone would put me off if I was a recruiter. Pretty short sighted and impulsive even for a teenage male imo. That and the potential heart issues that could arise down the track.

Brayshaw is a safe pick as there ever was. You don't take risks at pick 1.

Yeah after being asked a question by the recruiter, "what is something you wouldn't want us to know?" Yes, it's a bit lame. But most of the answers the draftees would have had to that question wouldn't have been great either...

We're after the best football players. And Stephenson is leaps and bounds better than Brayshaw. So after Rayner's poor run, I'm back on the Stephenson train

For what it's worth I'm still not against Adam Cerra at Pick 1 either. Looked a gun before he got injured and the coaches at Easterns think he's the best junior they have seen.
