Haven’t paid much attention to Ling, Garner, Murphy or Richards who others rate highly.

Can you or anyone else provide this kicking blooper reel for Stephenson for my edification.

I've spent ages trawling YouTube and the Interweb for it but I still can't find it.

Yep, I bought into the he can't kick narrative, from the stuff I've seen online it looks pretty good, in one in particular his kicking looked elite. I think when he went into the midfield later in the year his kicking improved, had to rely more on instinct rather than thinking about it too much.

True, but there wasn't a lot of defensive intensity in that game either. Not saying his kicking is good or bad btw, just that game may not be the best guide.

When I look a those first 5 picks I would be happy with any one of them. I can see a 1000 games between them. Hopefully the one we choose will play his 200 games with us.

I've seen some less than optimal disposals in those vids for just about any player that I can think of.

Are you seeing all 20+ disposals (where applicable)? All of the times they ran to make a tackle or cover space - or didn't? All the shepherds or bumps that they did - or did not - make? It doesn't even have to be sanitised to be unrepresentative.

All I have done is to dig up as much material as I possibly can and to try to formulate an opinion on that admittedly incomplete data. I've freely stated on several occasions that my opinions are derived from limited information. The usual grab bag of YouTube "highlights" and other assorted news items is how I've frequently put it

I'm in Brisbane so I can't readily go to TAC games, Under Age State playoffs or the like.

Still, I do my best to inform myself to come to the most educated opinion I can muster.

At the end of the day, it's all a bit of fun and I am more than happy to defer to those who have a more imtimate appreciation of the strengths and weaknesses of the young men we are discussing.

In this draft all the top picks seem to have some shortcomings .Where flight risk (or lack of it) and character are being held up as carrying as much weight as "talent", he's surely worth at least some consideration.
