Who are we likely to pick up in the rookie draft Monday?
Fingers are crossed for Campbell Walker. Reckon he was a standout in the NEAFL for us and with more development would make a nice pressure forward.

Who are we likely to pick up in the rookie draft Monday?
Some Zac Bailey footage, as always it's a small sample, but plenty to like.
Anyone know when the new recruits are flying up? I saw that Andrew Brayshaw is going to Perth Sunday night and is staying with Nat Fyfe at his beachside residence.
Since we won’t be recruiting anyone interstate in the rookie draft, our guys could probably be up here by Tuesday night.

Where?I think Bailey said Tuesday for him.
Where?
My mates son Oskar Baker was getting picked up by Shannon Byrnes this morning to be at Melbourne Football Club training tomorrow - geez it all happens in a hurry.Anyone know when the new recruits are flying up? Not quite. We got 25 and 40 for schache. We had to package 25 with 20 to get up to Bailey.Traded Schache for Bailey.

Schache plus change to get Bailey and Wooler. Not quite. We got 25 and 40 for schache. We had to package 25 with 20 to get up to Bailey.
We gave up Schache + change to get Zac Bailey.
where r the knives?Schache plus change to get Bailey and Wooler.
Schache plus change to get Bailey and Wooler.
Time will tell whether we won that trade. So we traded Schache for picks 25 and 40.
Then traded 20 and 25 for picks 15 and 52.
So basically we got Bailey, Wooller and Payne for Schache and pick 20. Happy with that, with Wooller the bonus as picks 40 and 44 were supposed to be used for Ballenden.
Also, it was great to hear Brad Johnson on Draft night say, that we were one of the winners of the night and that we have now nailed 3 consecutive drafts.
No you presume wrong, I stated exactly what I meant. Small defenders last year done for speed week in week out no change to set up.I feel that the issue of standards was dealt with pretty bloody well by Fagan last year.
If you were not performing you didnt last long in the seniors, and it was only the players that were playing the best out of the 2's that were promoted.
And in relation to the speed small forwards which i presume you are talking about, has also been attended to in the off season.
Hopefully things will improve in that area next year.
I have no inside info, so if anyone has, I would welcome it. I can only think of 4 possibilities for the Queensland zone selection:Who are we likely to pick up in the rookie draft Monday?
I have no inside info, so if anyone has, I would welcome it. I can only think of 4 possibilities for the Queensland zone selection:
Campbell Walker, who played as a 19 yr old academy top up in our NEAFL team, was injured in his draft year and is a small forward, fierce tackler and strong mark, who was highly rated by our coaches. Been frequently discussed by myself, Nunez and others and must be some chance. Has a great attitdude and gives 110%.
Jordan Keras won the NEAFL MVP, from Southport, averaged 35 disposals, inside midfielder, 23 yrs old, must be some chance and younger than Grewar and a possible upgrade on him. Seems the best of the NEAFL prospects, but there could be others.
Ben Sloan, 189cm, from Mt Gravatt, played in GF side, kicked a goal, mobile marking player, made the Allies side, a rookie chance.
I also like Sam Copland, academy top up, who played the first 6 games in the twos before injury and showed a fair bit as a medium forward.
Jack Clayton, also in Aliies squad, was an emergency for GF and played when Hammer was injured. IMO hasn't shown enough to be rookied.
Preselected QLD players nominated by 12 noon Monday. Rookie draft at 5.10pm
Whilst i do agree that we find it tough matching up on opposition small forwards. No you presume wrong, I stated exactly what I meant. Small defenders last year done for speed week in week out no change to set up.
But here's the odd thing, closer to correct set up in round one of comp when beating GC.
Then changed a winning team and stuck fast to an unsuccessful set up the rest of the year.
Need I write it, 15-100+ scores against should give you a clue all isn't rosy!
Between the Lions and Suns, which club has preference over which areas? Would the Suns have priority access to Keras, seeing he's at a Gold Coast club?I have no inside info, so if anyone has, I would welcome it. I can only think of 4 possibilities for the Queensland zone selection:

Good point, I don't know. there seems to be 2 categories... Academy players and Qld zone selections.Between the Lions and Suns, which club has preference over which areas? Would the Suns have priority access to Keras, seeing he's at a Gold Coast club?
I ask, because Gold Coast delisted 3 rookies this year.

Is young Lambert possible? Impressed in a couple of NEAFL games I sawYep they'd all be some sort of chance. Perhaps Luke O'Sullivan too? He played a lot of NEAFL for us and did quite well. Would think he'd be just behind Walker in the pecking order though.
