Gut feel says we'll keep both + grab Naish and get out of the draft.

But I wouldn't rule out a trade with Freo for Pick 5-6, think they're keen to get a pick in the teens.

But I still think we want one in the teens too, so we'll see.

Cal Twomey is a nuff-nuff. This time last year he had Brodie at 1, Venables at 6, McGrath at 8, Taranto at 15, Rotham at 17 and Battle at 20.

Like a lot of media (and BF) 'experts', he adjusts his phantom close to the draft according to what he hears from clubs (or what one person hears and they all copy).

Well he isn't rising at club land, it's not like he's been outstanding since Cal last did his update so no idea why he 'jumps up' - If you have a look with the AFL.com.au articles, Cal uses the Father-Son pull a lot , in a sense it's click bait. Article on Joel Crocker the other day, Tyler Brown combine invite - could name the endless Brown/Daicos articles last year.

I haven't heard any other 'draft' "experts" having him as high as Cal has him.

WA talent is down this year and picking a WA prospect where Freo is going to sit will be quite a big reach. I definitely think they'll be keen.

Reckon Darcy Fogarty could get to one of 15/16? Fogarty and Balta would add some nice size for the future.

If the choice is between Balta and Naish, no brainer. 194cm mobile players with pace and a good boot are rare and I hope he lasts to us.

Yep seen him a few times for Marcellin. Very good pedigree mum played for the Opals and his uncle is Dean Brogan.

His ruck work is good, he's not a skinny/basketballer type that has a very good vertical leap - but more of a stronger bigger body that has a decent leap in the ruck. Has only played about 10 games of footy and his decision making/ball skills will improve as he continues.

Few clubs thought he'd just come back for Oakleigh next year as a 19 year old - but wouldn't surprise me to see him drafted now. Sam Hayes looks likely as the only ruckman drafted - so they'll be a few late like Joel Amartey/Bailey Griffiths/Joe Griffiths who might appeal to clubs.

Sorry if this has been covered extensively already, but what's the top end talent like in this draft? Would one player taken with a pick 5 be worth 2 players at 15/16 (other than Naish)?

Not a chance unfortunately. If he slips past ten I'll be shocked.

Statistically it is often the case.

The % of those who make it drops significantly after the first 12 or so picks.
