Davies-Uniake looks very likely.
Dangerous year to have the first pick.

If I could take anyone I'd take Dow... I'm
Not sold on Rayner tbh
Not by much.Cerra could still go #1.
Dow will slide out of the top five I think.

Bishop do you think Bonar will end up warranting a first round pick? If not, like the poster above, where do you potentially see him going? (I know it's pre-draft combine but still) And if his injury history is a worry do you think clubs are more willing to take a risk on him earlier with players like Witherden killing it, and potentially Graham too? I Like the look of him but we only really have 2 first round picks, and then 2 late thirds which we're looking to use on Naish I assume.
Also who do you see as the player who will be the "best" player from the draft? (don't have to give reasons or an in-depth answer just curious) For me, from looking at highlights and being an "armchair scout" Darcy Fogarty is the one, whoever he drops to is going to be very lucky if his knee doesn't cause further trouble.
I like the look of Balta too, I hope we manage to snag him as I believe he will be one of the better players from the draft if we get him. What pick range do you see him going?
Re: Naish bids.I think Bonar could push inside that top 20 - but one that needs to be watched closer over the next few weeks. Has always been touted highly from those in the know - and when you have 2 picks you can certainly take that risk that some other clubs may not be able to.
I wouldn't take Fogarty - Aaron Francis 2.0 -- Best player in the draft for me... Adam Cerra.
I like Balta - in that 10-25 range. Some clubs will like him & others I can see not touching him. I'd take him at our picks nevertheless.
From what I've seen and heard of Bonar, a haul of Balta, Bonar and Naish would be ace.I think Bonar could push inside that top 20 - but one that needs to be watched closer over the next few weeks. Bit of hype building, his last month has been good apparently.any love for Aaron Naughton
No one would do that. The best we could hope for would be to get an early second rounder.Or, if its a thin draft maybe we can trade a first rounder this year for a first rounder next year.
Fogarty could also turn out to be Francis, yes. But he could also turn into another Charlie Curnow, another 192cmish utility who lead people to wonder where he fits in at AFL level.I think Bonar could push inside that top 20 - but one that needs to be watched closer over the next few weeks. Has always been touted highly from those in the know - and when you have 2 picks you can certainly take that risk that some other clubs may not be able to.

Thing that worries me about Balta is generally KPFs are taken high, why? Because playing as a key tall requires you to be able to read the play and have good football IQ which is harder to teach than say endurance. And in the phantom draft trial run Balta's running patterns were said to be the thing holding him back, and he's been criticised for his lack of football IQ. Running patterns are often a thing which is part of football IQ, in the sense of having a feel for the game and knowing where and when to run. He sounds like a great athletic talent but he also needs to read the play to be a good KPF at AFL level. Not saying he can't but food for thought nonetheless.
Now that you mentioned it.No.any love for Aaron Naughton
Anyone notice how Gale said we have two first round draft picks "at this stage"? I don't think we will end up holding two. Not just because of that but also because of the potential for a first round pick for Naish and also because the club isn't in rebuild mode at all. We'll be upgrading or trading them out for some type of doozy.
Curnow was seen as slow with a bad leap and a poor kick. Probably the area Curnow was better than Fogarty at this age is enduranceFogarty is nowhere near athletic enough to be Charlie Curnow.
Curnow was seen as a bloke athletic enough to play mid or CHF. Fogarty is a slug.Curnow was seen as slow with a bad leap and a poor kick. Probably the area Curnow was better than Fogarty at this age is endurance
that can be worked on.
