Curnow was seen as slow with a bad leap and a poor kick. Probably the area Curnow was better than Fogarty at this age is endurance
that can be worked on.

Curnow was seen as a bloke athletic enough to play mid or CHF. Fogarty is a slug.

Agree with Rich - Curnow far more athletic and had a better leap than Fogarty. Not to mention the better endurance. Fogarty a slug.

I havnt really focused on anything draft wise so far this year but just wanted to ask the questions:

1) Where can I find some highlights of Naish?

2) With us having a F/S pick so really just need points, would the club consider trading the 2 first round picks for an early first and mid second Rd such as Melbourne (10&27) or bulldogs (9&26) in order to get Naish abit cheaper?
Or even Trade our first 2 picks to GC for their 19,22,23,24?

Yeah just thinking out loud I guess but as I said I havnt really looked too much into the draft so far considering we are having such a good year on field.

I have some advice.

Read this thread, all of it, and all your questions will be answered

I guess I'm saying that if you look at Curnow and Francis, one has really minimzed their weaknesses and maximized their strengths, the other hasn't. Still not sure if one can rule out him yet. I watched him at the champs and he was a bit rubbish but I often find utility/tweener/tall midfielder types hard to predict.

Found some time and did go back through the thread and found the Naish highlights.

He looks like a young Elliot Yeo from what I've seen. Abit more size and he could be very handy.

If we can snag him for a second rounder I reckon that would be abit of a bargain.

Can any of the more knowledgable posters out there give me some feedback on Brayden Ainsworth from WA?

He is from Esperance and made the All Australian under 18s. He is my cousin, although I never really speak to him so don't be afraid to be brutally honest.

My impression is that he is a run of the mill midfielder. Gets the ball, does his job, but doesn't necessarily have too many weapons. Peter Sumic rates him highly. I haven't read too much about him from the experts though!

Worth a late round pick? It would be cool to have a relative playing for my team (unless he became a whipping boy! haha)

seen a phantom draft or two with hayes at richmond, wouldnt be a bad result

brander dropping to us would be nice

naish, the richmond father son afl.com has ranked top 10 currently. would be nice to get another 2nd round draft pick or something to get him on the cheap (?)

i would be up for trading everything for tom lynch or patton if that were a possibility

Geelong pick will be no. 14 if both Geel and GWS lose their semis and 13 if Geel lose and GWS advance.

GWS don't have a pick because of Whitfield saga so I think it is as follows (happy to be corrected cos its confusing):

Geelong lose and GWS advance then WCE/Port(Lions) gets 13 and cats/us 14
Geelong lose and GWS lose than it is 13
Geelong win and we have two picks from 15-17

Hayes, Balta, Naish in the Draft would be great for setting up our future.
I hope to see Naish going at about pick 18.
1 more year with Griffiths and Hampson who knows?
Trade possibles- Lloyd, Lennon, Miles, Batchelor, Conca only if required value received.

Unless a top 5 talent slips for some reason, I don't care who is available we MUST use both our too picks on kpps. We cannot continue with such pathetic depth in big men. Frankly we have been lucky to only miss a few games from jack and nank but if one of our talls goes down medium term we are stuffed.

Also jack and Rance aren't getting any younger and we have to start planning for life beyond them.

I think we have to try trade them both for talls. Cant risk hoping a tall or 2 might be there.

Hmm we need talls.
If Hayes is there we take him. not many other decent talls floating around at that range though. possible to offload one of our first rounders for a tall forward that could slot straight into the team (not sure who) and then draft in another young key position player - such as Hayes, balta or Oscar Allen - or probably on Naish.

If we have to use Naish, then the next option has to be a key forward. If we dont get naish, we get 2 key position players, or Garner or Lochie O'Brien if he still available.

Yeah there are never decent talls after the first round. Nekminnit Ben brown is chosen at pick 40-something
