I could be wrong about the bidding process, but I thought if Naish gets bid on at 16, we match with 17, and then with surplus of points coming from matching with 17, our pick 20 becomes the next selection:

-Naish bid pick 16, match with 17.
-Points surplus brings pick 20 to pick 17, the next selection

Happy to be corrected otherwise.
Pick 16 - 1067 -Discount 213 = 854
Pick 17 1025 - 854 = 171 equivalent of pick 58
That would give us Naish, 20, 25, 53, 55, 58

Is that bloke dominating the WAFL?
22 year old and ready to play?
We picked up Tom Derrickx in a similar vein.Dominating at WAFL level might not be the best indicator.

We've been linked to Scott Jones from WA with a late pick/rookie - to me that suggests they might not take Hayes & take a ruck later... Time will tell, I'll follow it up. Know they've done a lot of work with Balta.
Could our apparent interest in Hayes be a smokescreen? i recall last yr everyone had us linked with Himmelberg but we didn't end up taking him.

True. But talls from the Wafl take longer.:p:D
i don't think state league is as big a negative as it once was broad has been good for us adams decent at the dogs. then going back jpod was pretty good for the cats. as long as they are the right types of player its smart recruiting its not like a late pick is a big price to pay if they bust it costs **** all

That would give us Naish, 20, 25, 53, 55, 58
Which makes our geelong trade even more bizarre as we'd have 3 picks in the 50s which we aren't going to use - effectively gave away next years 3R for nothing

Totally agree. If the club thinks he,s a better option than Hayes for example.Who,s to argue.

Maybe we are looking at delisting Lennon,Batch & Drummond.
Use 2 50,s to upgrade Moore & Steggels & the other on Derrick Smith.
Rookie Drummond.

They are hoping Naish slides past 24, but will be a waste if there is an early bid though as we will be unlikely to use all 3 picks in the 50s.

hayes would have more talent its just that if he busts it hurts us more. if we think we can turn him around then draft hayes id back us in but the lumbering giants are a bit out of fashion

Hayes 20+ prospect. Running is absolutely woeful (endurance) + GPS stuff is the worst in the TAC Cup. Definitely going to slide I feel.
Hey bishop thanks for all your expertise here, just wondering on your thoughts
Of ben miller from wa could he be second ruck/ key position , type
He seemed to go well in the combine testing ?????

Hayes isn't your typical "lumbering giant". He's actually very agile for his size, just has poor endurance

which is just as bad with rotations going down in the next few years

I haven't seen enough of Miller to be brutally honest. One that I'll be following up and watching stuff of over the next few weeks If I can.

Combine testing was good, but he didn't look that appealing to me on Grand Final day. Maybe a late/rookie.

watching that video posted here naish looks awesome was also impressed with allen so the bloke who said lennon mk2 to me all year can get ****ed lennon cant move anywhere near that fast

Our problem though is whats below Nank on our list. All have one thing in common. They are shit around the ground.Where do you see Hayes in that regard?
Is he Hampson like?

he actually can move and has some tricks for a big man he just gasses super easy. has a worse tank then dusty when first drafted and his gps data is shithouse

What do we think of Holmes from the Saints? Just been delisted after 3 years there. Nothing more than average tap ruck but has a lot of heart (having played a season in the 2s & still keen on a crack at the big time) & we'd get him for ultra cheap you'd imagine.
He's shithouse. Hammer and Soldo are a thousand times better.

Hayes is a dinosaur ruck the game has gone past these guys

Would rather Allen then this bloke even though people I have heard from reckon he’s Lennon mk2
If Allen is lennon mk2 he will be a gun. Allen has great endurance and good speed for a big man. If he is an mk2 of lennon in that he has great hands, and ball use he’s be a fairly complete player.

You think a few pre-seasons would fix his tank?
