This is 1 of the most stupid arguments i have seen on bigfooty for 10 years of my account.

Answer is simple
You do not pick Naish until he is bid on - Simple
It really is that simple

So there should be no complaints when we end up with 2-3 midfielders in the draft and are still crying out for KPP depth.

BTW I get why we should wait I just don't agree with doing it and ending up with only 1 KPP as a result.

So we reach for players just so we can say we got Naish cheaply. :thumbsu:
I am convinced you are trolling now. No one can be this dumb. You want to take Naish at 17 so we don't reach for a KPP we rate at 20-something.

WHAT IF THE TWO KPP YOU WANT ARE TAKEN AT 18 AND 19????

So Maric, Yarran, Elton, Morris, Hunt, Lennon and Batchelor have all been delisted, making seven spots.

Richmond currently have picks 17, 20, 25, 53, 55, 74, 92, 110, that's eight spots not including the rookie list. Does Richmond need to delist anymore players? Townsend, Miles, Moore, Chol, Castagna, Stengle and Soldo remain uncontracted yet none of them seem likely to be delisted. I'm imagining five from the national draft and two from the rookie draft, yes?

Mmm. Not sure. Mr. Magic I think has that category easily won with several entries.

Soldo and castagna are being upgraded to senior list so we only have 5 spots

But don't they leave rookie spots vacant? I just know Richmond have seven less players on their list now.
there will only be 1 rookie spot vacant left by castagna, soldo wwas a category b rookie which is outside the cap I believe. Purely for players poached from another sport.

this is legit all there is to say lmao

im honestly flabbergasted at what im hearing from rt

how do you end up with more KPPs by drafting naish at 17 even if theres been no bids? why not just TAKE the KPP at 17 ffs lmao

im so frustrated

I wonder whether these delistings is an indication that they suspect Naish might not get bid on earlyish. If he slips we get almost a freebie. Anyway, off we go.

You must be on the cones friend.

I’ll map out every outcome as simple as possible and why we’d be idiots to pick naish before a bid

What everyone normal proposes me do

Scenario 1
. Naish gets bid on before pick 17
Result: we either match with pick 17 and get a pick in the 50s back or he goes to another club and we pick someone else with pick 17 with 20 and 25 staying as is.

Scenario 2: No bid comes before pick 17

Result- The result of not picking naish at 17 before a bid which is
What everyone but you proposes is we either take the best available player, whether a midfielder or not, or we draft for needs and reach a tiny bit for a tall who we rate at 20-30.

How this impacts our remaining picks depends on 4 scenarios.

Scenario 1- naish gets bid on before pick 20

Outcome-
we lose pick 20 but have either already picked a tall at 17 and if we didn’t pick a tall it makes no difference as if we didn’t take them at 17 we wouldn’t take them at 20.

Scenario 2- naish doesn’t get a bid before 20

Result-
We pick the player we want likely another tall making that 2 talls or best available.

Scenario 3- Naish gets bid on before 25

Result-
we have 2 talls already looked away if that’s what we wanted to do and use 25 on naish.

Last scenario- No bid for naish before 25

Result-
Pick who ever the **** we want with 3 picks whether tall, short people or whatever and get naish with picks in the 50s.

Your Non Logical Suggestion

Scenario- No bid before 17 but pick naish anyway

Result-
get naish with 17 and get no later pick back. Also risk the chance of other players we like at 20 eg talls getting taken.

Summary-
You obviously don’t have a clue what you’d talking about. You keep saying if we rate naish 17-22 take him to avoid being stuck with only 1 or no talls. This makes no sense as taking a tall rated 20-30 with pick 17 stops another club taking them before 20, and it’s an identical result to getting naish at 17 and a tall at 20. 25 isn’t impacted by what you suggest. To conclude your suggestion has precisely zero advantage and if anything actually reduces our chance of getting 1 or more talls as another club could also reach slightly before our pick 20. It’s not hard to comprehend dude.

RT,
Is the main point you trying to make is that we should draft 2 KPP plus Naish rather than 2 best availables plus Naish?
You want 2 talls even if it is a reach?
Are you worried about our newest Elton/Hughes/Pattison getting eternally heckled because we drafted him at 17 rather than the second round where every expert rated him?
Actually that would be very Richmond supporter-like to bag the guy forever because we drafted him at 17 and he hasn't lived up to expectations.
There will definitely be a temptation for absolutely best available at 17 rather than best tall then best tall at 20 and/or 25 with there being a gamble as to whether that becomes 1 or 2 talls.

We currently have 7 list spots open, we must be looking at some DFAs
Tom Lamb?
Sam Collins?
Billy Hartung?
We elevated two rookies so we only have 5 senior spots and I'd imagine we are taking them all to the draft so we can use the points if we have to. If we add any delisted free agents, which after the review last year I don't think will happen, it will be after the draft.
