I was taught that you stick to your guns and explain why you believe in it. When it's proven wrong you concede defeat and move on, which I've tried to do. Hence me saying I don't expect to see complaints if we don't end up with a couple of KPPs from our 3 picks inside 25 given the number of responses were to just take best available until Naish is bid on.

My desired return from draft night is Naish and 2 quailty KPPs inside 25. I don't care how we get it done as long as its done. To me that will help set us up for sustained success.

No problem with you trying to explain your position but as someone else pointed out as you get new info you need to reform your opinion. But it's done now so let's leave it in the past.

IMO one of Brander and Balta is good, both is ideal. But if we get Scott Jones (or someone like that) in the rookie draft with one of those two talls it's a good draft on the back of Garthwaite and Nank last year (with both its great).

With 3 picks between 17-25 we are in a strong position to get at least one tall, maybe take a player who slides and Naish. If Naish gets past 25 then we could get 2 talls and an O'Brien, Petruccelle or ling. By taking Naish at 17 you completely eliminate that option.

Personally I'm not keen on Hayes anymore as his endurance is terrible by reports and that's was the knock on Ty and Lennon. Allen is not a tall, no problems drafting him but reckon he might evolve into a mid/3rd tall and I don't see him solving our issues. Don't know enough about Claravino but bishop questions his competitiveness and that's a turn off. Petty and Krueger sound like good gets too but is Krueger a kpf or a third tall seems to be the question mark.

Stick to your guns. Never concede. Etc.

The family motto as you said earlier.

Introspection would show too much intelligence.

Glad its a family trait.
Guess it's much better to fold at soon as your opinion is questioned.

Not at all. Questioning is part of the process of healthy debate.
But Not folding with a pair of aces, when you know someone's holding 3 Kings.. well that's a different story.

I'd pretty much conceded early on yesterday. Unfortunately posters kept on questioning so when I responded to them it appeared that it wasn't the case.

I thought you were just master baiting again.

Personally I don't think Naish is rated in the top 15 & won't get a bid there.
I think there is at least a decent chance that a bid comes after 25.

#16 Dogs - maybe
17 US
18 Brisbane - after using 1 & 15 ??
19 Gold Coast - 1st pick
20 US
21 West Coast - after using 13 ?
22 Geelong - 1st pick
23 North - after using #4
24 Geelong - 2nd pick
25 US

Could Bishop, or anyone who cares to discuss, tell me which of these teams is likely to be considering a Victorian player like Naish at their pick?

I think Norf are the ones who may bid. They are desperate to be us.

Which of the talls do people like the most?
We're linked to Balta and really would love him to come to us. Looks like a defender most likely at AFL level and plays a lot like some bloke called Rance who you might have heard of. Other than that there is a chance Brander slides, he would be ideal, but if not: I'd prefer Sam Hayes (2 time u/18 ruckman all aus, potentially a good KPF as well) or Allen (not as big of a fan due to smaller height and less "tricks" but did win the Larke medal)

Not Bishop but I reckon the Dogs @16, and any of 22, 23 or 24 could be possible bids just on a need for a classy outside mid/flanker basis

I know both the dogs and the lions have had multiple interviews with him including home visits. So I would assume both are interested.

I don't think it will be lions I reckon our swap of picks may have also been a agreement there to not to bid on each others players.

I thought you were just master baiting again.
Look like I need to get lessons from the best master baiter of all time as I failed miserably.

Surely as an oppo club you only bid on Naish at the selection you rate him at. Not a tactical bid to keep us honest. If that backfired it could do so in spectacular fashion. Surely any bid for Naish only comes at an appropriate selection from a club who genuinely hopes we pass on him.

I personally don't see Naish as being a top 25 pick , Sure he has potential and hope he becomes a GUN as it looks like 99.999% Chance we will be matching any bid so long as its after #12 as with the 20% Discount our #17 covers that bid without effecting the other picks.

Only 2 teams i see with a possible bid are #16 Bulldogs & #23 #lolnorf , I dont think Geelong will bid as im pretty sure that the Balme factor and the swap of picks would have had some sort of gentleman's agreement and same goes for Brisbane (Schache thing would have been sorted as well as they wouldnt want us bidding on Ballenden either)

There would be no purpose of Doggies or Norf bidding apart from making us pay for Naish as they would know well and truly that their bids #16 dogs & #23 Norf would be matched automatically as they are not alot of difference between our picks and they dont have picks after that to worry about getting him later.

Clubs have usually been good with father sons in the past and let them get through to a reasonable pick unless the kid has been an out/out GUN like Daniher

If North / Doggies do bid then i would certainly be looking to keep them honest in the future
