I think the argument about key backs is that you can draft them as forwards. Astbury played forward before he found his spot down back. And out best backman before Rance, Scott Turner, was a forward originally (I remember seeing him kick 4 against the Saints at Waverley).

About Chol, I have seen him play once, at a punt road game and he did not know where to run to. Looks like an athletic tall kid who did not grow up playing footy, which is probably true. From what I saw, I can't see him making it at all.
Most AFL backs are failed AFL fwds.

He is talking about high Dixon not Brander
Dixon wins contested ball and makes the smalls around him better. His numbers in the champs back this up for score assists and contested possessions. Despite playing back for a fair time in all star game he still contributed 4 goal assists. Played back as an under aged in 2016 champs so has versatility.lf his there in the third round should be in the mix.know of a least 1 club that has him in their top 40 so will be interesting come draft day

Problem is he moves like the Titanic

Would be extremely suprised if he is still available at #17

Balta / Allen looks to be our best bet
I think Balta will also be gone. Hope not. I do think Allen will be there and I'd be happy to take Claravino with 25 if available. I would also be happy to speculate on either Dixon or Nathan Krueger from SA. Especially Kreuger. 194cm. Very athletic. I think this kid has a lot of development ahead. Hopefully with a pick in the 50s.

Don't be so sure.
I've been trying to see how Adelaide overlooks Brander at 12. They drafted Davis, Talia, Lever in that range, just seems like a Crows pick (or maybe a Rendell pick). If Fogarty is there perhaps they choose the local, twice burned and all that.

Crows could go mid - eg: Hunter Clark. Their pick a hard one to read. Brander is too good to get to Pick 17, but it's a decent chance. No way could Crows pass on Fogarty at 12, but I'm not sure he gets there either.

I don't follow the draft much, but what do people here think if we Callum Coleman-Jones? Reading his profile from knightmares draft thread he sounds pretty good.
I'm not sold on Richmond drafting a ruckman or a guy who tries to play as both a ruckman and a forward. I think players who play a mixture of ruck and forward at junior level get overrated because we multiply their forward and ruck performances and say "wow he can do both!" But what does he do at AFL level, average a goal a game and ten hitouts most likely. It's difficult to master either position at junior level and harder to do both positions justice at AFL level. Most sides have shifted towards having one ruck and not playing a second tall as it makes their team more mobile and Richmond needs to stick to mobility. I just think the team would be better served drafting a genuine forward who is a bit shorter and more mobile. If Nankervos needs a break, chuck Grigg in the ruck or drop him for Soldo. Give me Allen or Balta, the game is shifting towards needing agile, fast players with a tank. If you want a replacement for Riewoldt draft a KPF not a ruckman.

As long as we don't draft another Todd Elton, who incidentally thinks he is in his prime ready to dominate!

That Elton drum-up was one of the most delusional things I've ever heard.

I think he said something like, at times I dominated at both levels.

:drunk::drunk::drunk:

Makes me not like him to be honest.

If had just said, "I am a mature body, willing to work hard, which is why I would be a good fit for a new club."

But the dribble that came out of his mouth was pure delusional narcissism.
