Yep agree. Our history also suggests that we will look else where for rucks given Maria, Hammer and Nank all traded in, Soldo rookie and Derickxx a late pick.

Only if we see Hayes becoming a KPF/back up Ruck will we take him.

OK, who would be best available if Rance, Riewoldt & Cotchin were all available? (I'll leave Dusty out of the equation).
Very arguable who is "best available" of them. I would draft which position has the biggest need.

I would take Hayes at 25 if Naish isn't bid on and if Hayes is still there.

Considering most think a bid will come on Naish before 25 I'm happy to take a gamble on Hayes at 25 if it happens.

Pick 20 Best Mid Available
Pick 25 Hayes
Naish

I'm big on running capability and don't believe you can improve too much but happy to be proven wrong. My only hope is that maybe Draft combine Hayes was tanking a little to slide to a better club.

Yes he will improve his fitness and speed at AFL but so will all the draftees who are already well ahead of him.

if Allen is there at 17 take him, if Brander is there at 17, he most likely will be there at 20 imo esp if Lions want to take Ballendan. BL and GC most likely will take smalls with those 2 picks.
i dont think Hayes will be there at 25, although, WC, Nth, and Geelong have those picks and are not in need of ruckmen. But if hayes is there, we take him.
Gee i hope the Eagles dont take Allen at pick 13.

Wayne Carey was only 192cm but was a beast
Dermie was just 186cm !!! When i used to watch him on the ground he played like a 195cm player

Provided they are good enough the height is not an issue
