If we land brander in the draft i consider that a big win anything else after that is gravy. The tigers winning the flag with short people has worked out great for us landing quality talls.

According to inside football:

Allen, Brander, Clarke, Constable, Fogarty, Hayes, Higgins, Murphy first round picks

Bonar, Brayshaw, Cerra, Coffield, LDU, Dow, Naughton, Rayner, Stephenson top ten picks

That’s outdated and not actually a phantom draft

Only problem he is as soft as butter. Hope I am wrong and he becomes a champion for us

Haha wouldnt say as soft as butter def not the spreadable type anyway maybe a bit more about him like the cooking type Think maybe thats a bit of a preception from him playing the intercepting backman role rather than the 1 on 1 kpd when played back as he tended to get monsterd by the bigger forwards.. when played forward he shows aggression leads hard at the ball uses his body and marks the ball well at its highest point very agile and clean below the knees also has a bit of the "im the man" about him where he can dominate key will be getting that at a consistent basis..

Would rather pick a player who would have more of an immediate impact

We don't need Hayes to have an impact next year or even the next couple of years. Nank is 23, Soldo is 21, Griffiths is 26 and Hampson is still available, that is 4 players capable of playing ruck if needed. We also have Chol and Moore that could pinch hit if things got desperate. Someone like Hayes we could sit in the VFL for 2-4 years let him develop his craft as a ruck and build a tank. By then Hayes is 22-23 and with Nank entering the prime years for a ruckman we could have a very good 1-2 punch alternating between ruck and deep forward.
I’d take both and Brander. I think we would be mad not to seriously consider taking 3 of the best KPP’s in the draft if they fall to us.

Remember, a year ago this was a really strong KPP group according to the experts.
Was an advocate of taking the 3 talls early on then changed to wanting another midfield/flanker type to compliment Naish. Now that it appears that there will be a wealth of KPP/ruck types to choose from when our picks come up, I'd love to see us pull the trigger and go 3 of them and develop replacements for when Jack and Rance come to the end as well as support for Nank down the track.

Would prefer Ballard over Hayes or CCJ. Go after a ruck with our last pick as most ruckman aren't highly drafted anyways

How long has it been since a dual U18 AA ruckman has been available? Don't believe there has ever been one. Hayes might have a poor tank, but if we're confident that it can be improved through hard work and that Hayes is prepared to do the hard work we'd be mad to overlook him unless someone like Stephenson was to slide from top 5 to picks 20-25 range.

Stephenson,I'd hold off.By all means take him if still there at 25 is how I'd play it.
Like this idea, get what we need with our first 2 picks and then if 25 rolls around and he is still there and we're confident that his issues are not that bad then pull the trigger. We're going to get 4 top 30 rated kids in the draft we can afford to take a risk with a pick as long as we've got what we need already.
Lets be honest mate evey richmond supporter who has witnessed the last 36 years was thinking were no chance
That is why you never say never

Unfortunately things are not that good for the Kid (Stephenson)

The following was posted on PRE by a poster by the name of Craig who knows what he is talking about.

For those non medical professionals out there, in Layman Terms Hypertrophic basically means over growth of muscle tissue in the case of the heart which are called myocytes, and instead of the body braking down and eliminating old dead and dying tissue in this condition it just keeps growing making the walls of the heart thicker and wider and less able to function as a pump.

This leads to congestive heart failure down the track.

If the heart cannot pump effectively to meet the physiological demands of elite sport it will be found out quickly, and hence is usually a career killer in many elite sports.

He has obviously undergone scans, and stress tests and Echocardiograms to test his heart flow, function and physical capabilities and dimensions ie wall thickness atrial and ventricular outputs, valvular function, capacities and other hypertrophic evidence.

Very bad news for the lad, just wondering whether or not the lad had actually been symptomatic at any stage to some degree for it to be investigated and found out, however he may not have been as Electrocardiograms do actually indicate Hypertrophy of the heart muscle so it may likely have been investigated after being discovered on a standard ECG during physical exam, then further investigation via scan or Echocardiogram

No doubt there will have been numerous Doctors, Cardiologists and Exercise Physiologists all over this young fella

There is nothing definitive that says he actually has that
