The draft is over a month away. Should be closer to the trade period in my opinion, and you should be able to trade draft picks on draft night.

Agree.

However the AFL can't even televise it properly now let alone with live pick swaps ha ha

Ive seen some shocking player comparisons over the years but this takes the cake.

Gary Buckenara's assessment of Naish way to high.

7. PATRICK NAISH (Father-son opportunity for Richmond)

Midfielder, 183cm, 73kg, Northern Knights/Vic Metro

Buckenara says: Naish gives the top end of the draft some genuine pace and he loves to tuck the ball under his arm and take them on and with his penetrating right-foot kicking, is a combination that will be attractive to all clubs. The Richmond father-son prospect (his dad Chris Naish played 143 games for the Tigers) would be a great fit for them and when a quality father-son pick comes along it is dangerous to overlook them, especially if they end up at another club and become a star. A first-round bid will come for Naish and I have no doubt Richmond will match it. He has really developed and impressed this year.

Plays like: Jordan De Goey

Clubs suited: Richmond — the Tigers won’t let another club draft him

Lol. Wish he was at another club. Has lost his marbles.

If no one bids on Naish by pick 25 then we can use picks 53 and 55 to get him and have a slight downgrade (at most 180 points) on our 2018 first round pick.

That is, unless the rules have changed since they made this: http://www.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL Tenant/AFL/Files/biddingsystemfeedback.pdf
I think deficit gets taken from the same round as the bid, so if a bid is after #25 it should be our 2018 2nd round pick that shuffles?
I'm finding it hard, can only find articles from 2015 or so but we know the rules have been adjusted a fair amount since then.

You are correct, wouldn't impact our first rounder next year.

Dow at 15.... lol why didn't Buckenara just say i have no idea, would have been quicker.
In Buckys defence pretty sure the HUN jut wheeled out his mid season ratings and rehashed them as a new article.

Hunter Clark wouldn't be a bad option if he slips (doubtful though )
Agreed. Can't have enough mids prepared to run hard both ways. Jack Graham showed this year how important defensive skills are, allows your mids to play a number of roles. From what I've read Clark is in that mould, wins his own footy, runs hard and lays a lot of tackles.
