List Mgmt. 2017 draft thread

It's not a bad thing us not having a pick in the top 10 we generally don't have a very good record. It really is about finding the diamond in the rough from the second round.

So I've spent my Cup day holiday reading through the Inside Football draft profiles as well as scouring other sites. Using the depth chart above I've made some changes to who I like with our picks.

17. Sam Hayes 203cm 93kg Ruck/KPF

20. Sam Taylor 196cm 88kg KPD

25. Patrick Naish 180cm 69kg Midfielder

52. James Worpel 185cm 85kg Midfielder

54. Hugh Dixon 195cm 90kg KPF

Covers all the needs I think we need to cover. Only issue is the lack of a second outside midfielder but Worpel would be a good addition beside Graham as a young inside midfielder to build around for the future. Like Graham he was an U18 champs captain. He also was Geelong Falcons premiership captain and one of the main comments in his write ups is his love of laying tackles. As I said besides Graham he would be a great addition to the next group of midfielders coming through.

KPF is our biggest weakness yet you use our last pick in the 50s to get one? doesn't make sense IMO

Wasn't Dusty's knock on him years ago was his tank

dusty ran a 14.1 beep and a 11:05 min 3km time trial at the draft camp in 2009. not absolutely elite numbers, but not shabby either. to give some perspective, daniel rioli ran 14.6 and nat fyfe 14.7 at their respective combines.

hayes, on the other hand, ran an 11.10 beep at the start of the year, and taking into account any improvements he might have made with his endurance over the course of the season, you'd think he still has a way to go before he has an afl-standard tank.

i'm far from a fitness guru (enjoy me froffs a little too much), so i don't know what's possible with regards to improving someone's endurance. but it seems like a fair gap he'd have to make up

11.10... that's horrendous! My 15 year old daughter would wave to him and send him to the sidelines with that time.

I don't mind us taking him, but I don't think we should use Pick 17 on him
Can't see Brisbane & Gold Coast using 18 & 19 on him, so he should be there at 20
probably wont but should. just hoping we get at least 2 of brander/allen/balta/hayes

You are joking yeah _RT_ ?

Taylor & Naish would be the only 2 wins there

Are dusty and cotch our most recent top 10 picks and last year we traded Prestia for 6 , I trust our recruiting , that said I don't wish for top 10 picks as it means you've just carded a shit year

I do know of last years crop Garth did 14.4 beep and is a 9.50- 3 k runner won the clean hands and equal goal kicking at 2016 combine and just got picked at 72- is this year weaker or was last year real good time will tell, go tigers 2018.

After all to-ing and fro-ing re Naish, it's great to see that he's locked in and will be a Tiger.

With a couple of his brothers a good chance to also be on the list this is going to be reminiscent of the Bowden and Ryan brothers :D

Missed Hayes at 17 who could start as a KPF?

Nope. Based on the rankings going around I feel they are the best players available that suit our needs.

Taller? Isnt he 195cm's?
Listed at 192. May have grown since those were taken.
