no just adding detail to the picture, don’t choke on yourself

but i will say naish isn’t walking in at williams’ level, it’s a speculative projection of where naish could get to. what is williams’ worth? pick 14? fk n overs imo but if that’s his value then I’ll take him over what is currently a fairytale child yet to be drafted. these footyology pundits must rate naish a near cert

nice bit of perspective though, I reckon that type of player coming out of juniors is a second to forth round pick. naish looks no better than menadue or markov. first round is a reach. but who really gaf. only the draft warriors and that ain’t me campaigner
What in god's name are you on about?

Pray, tell.

More than comfortable with this topic.
Well for a start, you are assuming he has worked hard to be a good runner but just cant improve.

Like I said, waaaaaay to broad of a statement, so many variables as to why some kids are not endurance beasts, mindset, training, education, desire, make up.

Plenty of athletes can significantly improve endurance to an acceptable level, not elite, but can absolutely improve. Particularly when you are using a kid as an example.

I have found another Tiger supporter that could be drafted this year.

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/messe...s/news-story/90ac44ad0522c6166182cef9f53c72ff

It mentions his beloved Tigers and with his height and movement certainly would bring something different to our structure and mix.

Gotta say has me curious and on the AFL website in a post atm. Having Jack Graham from SA would be no disadvantage either to support any development at Tigerland

Sounds very interesting. Often the late bloomers get picked up.

I was just listening to the Road to the Draft with Cal Twomey, who has felt pretty close to the mark in the past few years.

He said it's looking increasingly likely that Naish will drop past our first three picks and we won't have to match. He mentioned Bulldogs as the only ones who might look at nominating him.

He also said he is sick of people saying Naish is not a good kick because he is 'a very good kick'.

As good at Nat Edwards is at her job, I'd like either the AFL or the club to employ the young woman from the Trivago ad because her voice makes me tumescent. Although they've changed her persona a bit to be more outgoing; I preferred when she spoke calmly, reminded me of when I would get in trouble at kindergarten for tugging as I went down the slide in the playground. The teacher would take me aside and say, 'now Boob, we've been through this before: you know you can't touch yourself down there when you're in the yard' and I would be slightly embarrassed but feel quite tranquil, unjudged. Then I'd run out into the yard with my pants down waggling my dick around yelling 'WHERE ARE THE FISHING RODS CAMPAIGNERS BECAUSE IVE GOT LIVE BAIT!'

1) Makes sense naish would drop. Pure outside, skinny as hell, with some kicking issues (more target selection than kicking itself). Would be awesome if we got 3 top 25 plus Naish. Set us up for a renewal of the team despite being young as.

2) Your stories of your youth are interesting. I LOL'd, and am slightly concerned about your junior years - especially those that grew up around you :D:thumbsu:

I mentioned Jones a few weeks back and really love to get him to Richmond, Hampson's last year next year and Soldo is still 2-3 years away
Jones has very good agility and is extremely quick for a man of his size as well as being a viable foward with a good kick

Perfect foil for Nankervis, I can see the Richmond team playing both Nankervis & Jones in the starting 22 as they are both able to play that mountain Foward role.

Would be a fantastic choice with #55 or a Rookie selection

Absolutely.

But he is not a kid off the street.

He is a dual all oz, tac & afl academy player.

This is the most elite pathway for junior players in the country.

If he has been through these programs & is still a limited runner the causal evidence would suggest he will continue to be a poor runner.

That, or he has limited application which is just as damning.

I'm not against getting him, but the idea that his running will go due north just from becoming a pro is flawed.

I am against getting him, as the highlighted section is more likely than genetics IMO.

If this is true, just firms up in my mind that we’re probably not in for drafting any rucks this year. We’d rather pick them out of obscurity like a cat B rookie, a state comp or a trade.

Think clubs are coming around to realising that drafting ruck prospects and developing them is a too much of a hard slog and what we did this year with Nank didn't do the prospects any favours.

Are you originally from the GC Morro?

I wouldn't have thought there would be too many clued in supporters that are born there?

Haha

Been in 12 years, Melbourne and country vic for 25 years prior

With regards to Hayes is it possible that his just slow rather than unable to run.

In 14 TAC games he averaged:
8.6 kicks
7.4 handballs
16 disposals
4.6 marks
3.4 handballs receives
25.3 hitouts

For mine if the bloke couldn't run he wouldn't be playing as a first ruck at TAC level and those numbers suggest that the kid does cover the ground, but maybe he is just slow in getting around it. Nothing wrong with that as there aren't many rucks that are overly quick but they are smart enough to get to the right spots to impact on games.

The ball obviously moves a lot faster at AFL level.

He will struggle majorly. Pass.

Moves a bit faster but the TAC also has the rule restricting congestion so it moves quite quick there too. I just think that a kid that has the talent to be a 2 time AA is worthy of being taken with the picks we have in the draft. Give him a couple of years to develop a better fitness level and an greater understanding of where to run to have a bigger impact on games and we'll have got ourselves a bargain.

Taken at R3 or R4 would be a bargain. Taken with 17 as you suggest not so much. But if Naish slips, we have 3 picks, so I wouldn't be against the idea.

Yep agree. Our history also suggests that we will look else where for rucks given Maria, Hammer and Nank all traded in, Soldo rookie and Derickxx a late pick.

Only if we see Hayes becoming a KPF/back up Ruck will we take him.
