With the picks this year it looks like Tom Lynch is not on our radar .
The pies have zero talls depth and recruited 3 midfielders they look to be going all in on Lynch .
He wouldn’t even help them that much. Defense is pathetic

Miller will be a KPP that pinch hits in the ruck But not a full time ruck.
regardless of his leap, rucks that undersized aren't first choice.
Unless the game really does move away from big men and mobility is the core part of rucking, then he might be, but he's never going to compete against the Jacobs of the world. His athleticism is more suited to KPF or KPF. Same with Balta.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT ANYONE MENTION THIS "SWINGMAN" BULLSHIT!

He 200cm now

Bioshop doesn’t think Higgins will ever be a mid due to his size. Not sure I agree

Higgo is 178cm/78kgs. Plenty of A grade midfielders are of similar stature, and often it comes down to raw ability and work ethic, something Jack Higgins has in spades. I don't expect him to become a full time Midfielder, because, who is these days? Versatility is golden.

Here's a few notable past/current smaller midfielders approx height/weight;

- Ben Cousins (179cm, 78kgs)
- Brent Harvey (172cm, 75kgs)
- Robert Harvey (181cm, 83kgs)
- Daniel Kerr (178cm, 80kgs)
- Greg Williams (176cm, 88kgs)
__________________________
- Dion Prestia (175cm, 82kgs)
- Dayne Zorko (175cm, 79kgs)
- Lachie Neale (176cm, 80kgs)
- Tom Mitchell (181cm, 79kgs)
- Toby Greene (182cm, 82kgs)

Amazing quality in those names ranging between 172cm-182cm. I'm sure I missed a hell of a lot more too, feel free to add.

Given a day to think about it I reckon this draft was a great combo of opportunity and plans for 5 years +. Pick 17 was opportunistic, as was Miller (but planned for). We got a bunch of longer term talls + Naish. Heaps of talent and players with the expectation that some won't make it. But right now we are loaded for developing rucks, Some junior KPs, with the common traits of athleticism, skills and like to crack in hard. We seem to be picking types here.

Short term we add one top shelf midget forward/mid. Long term we might get half a spine + run and carry. Fantastic pick ups for winning the premiership

What are the prospects of the other Naish kids?

No idea. But I suspect they will be skinny, fast and can kick fairly well. :)

Hope dad is a good 'coach' and they keep coming on at AFL standard

trade butler???..gagf

Won’t be playing firsts by years end. Guys like Bolton and Higgins have way more upside and will go past him. He’d still have currency though for teams without 6 forward short people like us. That’s why i’d look to trade him. Castagna just got two years so he’s less likely to exit.

You do realise in his first ever season he was =8th in the B&F in a premiership year? That tells me the coaching staff rate him highly. Watch his games, he is a frigen jet every bit as good as Rioli. He danced through packs better than anyone this year
