I suggested this nine weeks ago and got shot down.
I think this is a real possibility, rumors of disharmony biggest hurdle would be his kids though.

Jackson for Stringer chuck in Loobe and pay half his salary.

Would be a heavily lopsided trade for us & would depend on how much they're willing to offload him, recurring injuries being his biggest issue as well as not standing up in big games even though he's not a sole key target & would probably fit in well alongside Dixon & a developing Marshall.

Would take more than Lobbe as steak knives though who we'll have to settle for just offloading for a late 60+ pick, could actually see a trade like this happening as Jacko is a restricted free agent but would depend on what else we're willing to part with maybe Impey & a pick?

On the couch talking about best to offload Stringer now for an early first rounder before he loses value but I don't see him being worth that, mid-late definitely but I wouldn't give up a top 10 pick for him.

In saying all that I still think Jacko is gonna stay for unders like Pittard.

Can reasonably add the Hawks to the list of clubs who might be interested in Lobbe and/or Trengove.

With Gibson gone, Frawley and Birchall towards the end of their careers and only Ryan Schoenmakers as a swingman who can allegedly defend they may be looking for some height and strength in the backlines to give the likes of Brand and Burton some space to grow.

Their rucks: McEvoy of course then it's Vickery with Ceglar still recovering from his late-2016 ACL, Fitzpatrick retiring just today and Pittonet I don't know, by the numbers a big unit physically but at 22 would still be raw for a ruckman.

Trengove is an serious upgrade on Vickery or Schoenmakers. As a second ruck, Lobbe is a serious upgrade on Vickery. No disrespect intended to anyone. IMO there are real needs on their side and possibilities on our side.

I agree with the overall Trengove dilemma folks are painting. Great club man, jack of all trades. Not agile/quick enough for what we want as a KPD (thanks Dougal) so I can't see us playing more than two of Hombsch, Howard and Trengove in the back line any one time let alone finding room to develop Austin. Not ideal up forward unless mismatched or we're playing three talls which we rarely do - see "mismatch" earlier :( Very frigging useful as a second ruck but what then, sit on the bench or float up and down the ground? Should we pay one bloke significant coin to become that "super sub" for all the tall roles, to fill up on more roles each season than Westhoff has had burgers in his life? Would he want that?

Similarly for Lobbe. At the Hawks he'd have a far better chance of regular games, no matter how long Vickery's contract is.

The way I see it we could do one or the other and I'd keep Trengove if I could. Frampton for all the aggression folks like is still an unknown quantity at the level. Austin is a little further ahead but given his dip this year we still don't know if he can replace Jack or Jackson in the long run. Trengove can cover for Billy, Logan or Lobbe at the moment but Lobbe is ... mostly just a ruckman, with a long kick and so far a very average mark for height.

I feel we need some more outside pace to support Polec. Pretty much someone to replace White as I think he'll get delisted.
I suspect that replacement will be Motlop. Kane's rumours have been pretty reliable since the Shaun Burgoyne one.

I see Motlop as a replacement for Monfries on the forward flank.

I'm talking about whatever our first draft pick is (2nd rounder?) would like to use it on a winger.

Would straight swap of Brendan ah chee and Brandon matera work. Ken would know Brandon from his time at Gold Coast just like Charlie. Also jake stringer would obviously be a good get bulldogs aren't going for lever anymore this could be where we offer Jackson Trengove and the obvious extras Logan Austin could be added in this he's still out of contract

No. Both West Coast and Freo are keen. Possibly a second round pick? even a third?
Arch is a delisted free agent?

Understandable but also it's where he wants to go he isn't a free agent either. As for ah chee I think suns will take him no sane player wants to go there currently and picks haven't worked in the past especially considering they have 3 second round picks already this year

i still think Rockliff would be a great inclusion for our team considering he can play as both an inside mid and as a half forward goal kicker. He's not A class but he's very close and would be a very good value buy without breaking the bank.

He's also got that little bit of campaigner mongrel that we need a bit more of. If we can only take one of Rockliff or Motlop then I'd be going for Rocky.

Sam Hayes at 5, who was the last ruckman to go top 15.

Longer went top ten in 2011
Gorringe went top 10 in 2010
Nin Nat top 2 in 2008

There is no way I am grabbing a ruckman in the first round unless he is a freak, Hayes is not a freak IMO.

Can we please trade into pick 15.

I thought the Burgoyne idea was stupid but that's what WCE did with Mitchell. That was probably a failure from WCE's point of view as they over estimated their list. They are having to do a rebuild now.

If we had a "our moment is now" view of our list, adding Burgoyne (on a coaching promise), Rockliff and Motlop via free agency is plausible.

But it's against everything Hinkley has done for 5 years. It prefers the failed WCE model to the "organic growth" model the Cows used this year. The chances of us doing this are slim. However, for a long time now we have been saying our bottom 5 or 6 players have been letting us down. With organic growth from Atley, Drew, SPP, Marshall, Houston and an instant strengthening from Burgoyne, Rockliff and Motlop, competition for places would go through the roof.

Just on Motlop, I wonder if their public placing him on the trade table is basically a not very coded "come on home Gary" message as well. Exactly the sort of role that would suit him for another year or so.

Remember: it's not a conspiracy if they all meant to do it ;)

It would be very silly not to put in a decent contract offer to him. Will be in the team for the next 3-4 years until Atley/Drew come on and just adds another rotation in the middle and HF.

Would be the ideal pick up for us and doesn't cost us picks.

Id be happy to pick up motlop as well and lose any picks we may get for Trengrove as a F/A as this years draft isnt said to be that strong, thus why we traded to get more picks in last years draft.

I think west coast did the right thing, its not like mitchell cost them any picks. They reminded me of us last season, we forget they had Nic Nat out (we had ryder out, lobbe was injured even though he might not have played) also they had kennedy miss a month. They only just missed the 8, not the worst decision.

Id be happy to Get Shaun, Rocky, Motlop in if it doesnt cost us any future picks and we can budget it in our cap. Brings experience and depth in a few areas we need, we have been lucky with injuries this year so it would help if things go bad.

Are they areas of need though?

Currently if Ryder goes down we're rolling with The Soulless One or zero gamer Frampton. If Dixon goes down it's a 28 year old Eddy whose apparently not even fit enough for the big time.

So I'd suggest we have a greater need for some quality talls and by some margin too.
