The usual Rd 1 loss to the scum hurts morale but we won it this year.
Rd 2 loss to Pies was the killer this season IMO.
Winning both would be a pleasant way to start.
We've won the last four round 1 games.

That's not good Friday eve, just an stock standard Thursday. We all have to go to work the next day, it will flop crowd wise as no one in Melbourne wants to go to the Footy and have to go to work the next day. It's too late and you can't take the kids.
It maybe a TV success, works better than Monday's.

Keep Thursday nights for Adelaide and Brisbane etc, even Geelong would work with an interstate team.

As our home game we have been screwed over, I think we will be lucky to get 70,000 there,
theres a simple way to fix both those problems schedule it on friday night over thursday what a bunch of w***ers

Mate I would rather do my dough than watch us lose, but if there's a chance to make a buck , why not, my payout in 2016 would have been 2000 for an outlay if 20 so it's an easy bet

The minute you put your money down a part of you wants the Tigers to lose for the return

It's bad mojo

11 games at the G? 9 games on Channel 7?

4 games at Etihad?

6 games interstate?

Looks like I'm getting Foxtel.

I hope the AFL have quietly made it clear to Richmond/DH that they'll never get a Friday night again unless they change their god awful game style.

Great post matey.
Richmond, in particular he is not allowed to be mentioned in certain posts, only have themselves to blame for the draw, especially our absence on Friday night.
The Bulldogs getting a dream draw is not so much about their premiership as it is their ability to play attractive and exciting football.
What was it 'he who shall not be mentioned' said at his presser after the St kilda debacle last year? 'Well, you blokes, it wasn't one of the better games of football we've seen?"
You think the AFL will be rushing out to put us in prime time based on that rubbish?
To the poster who mentioned it the other day, can you honestly now tell me that the stretch of games at the end of the season when we were "over it" mentally, were "meaningless"???
Maybe meaningless to us, but the AFL took notice.
The AFL doesn't want "meaningless' in prime time.
We got the draw we deserved and the message is clear; you want prime time, give a prime time worthy performance.

I hope the AFL are ready for the wave of criticism coming their way next year when thursday/friday night football becomes blowout city in front of half empty stadiums.

Fixtures and who ya play twice etc means jack to me! You'll play finals if you're good enough no matter what, you still play 17 teams at least once, you can win enough games to make finals from just those games! Never will I accept the draw as an excuse, ever!
