Interesting since the North loss we score more than a 100 points in all bar one game. Score 100+ against the Hawks with our defence and we surely win.

Tuesday, that's going to be a short turnaround. I hope we can find someone to help us out with that.
;)

Our round 6 game will be on a Sunday - Richmond and Melbourne play Anzac day eve so it will be one of these 2 clubs - One will play Collingwoodand one will play Essendon.

So then id say we would play Melbourne since we play tigers for the dreamtime game a few weeks later. Id think pies v tigers at the g and we will play demons sunday twilight game at eitihad.

I'll be honest, as much as I would love to beat Hawthorn, the result isn't as big a deal as it would normally be, given the unique circumstances surrounding this particular fixture. It'll be a special game, as the first for Essendon Football Club post-saga. I often go to games with mates who support opposition clubs, but no way will I be doing it this time. I want to celebrate my club with my fellow Essendon brethren, rather than get dragged down to the 'banter' that will be thrown at us from Hawthorn (of all clubs!) supporters.

I can't wait, it's going to be brilliant. Go Dons!

The 4 MCG home games and 7 Etihad home game split is set to remain in 2017

I was hoping for at least one more MCG home game
You'll probably find that's specified in our contract with etihad, which we don't want to renegotiate as that's what's paying off our fines and the Tulla facilities.

Looks like we finally won't be hosting Melbourne at the MCG this year.

Either we play them away or we host them at Etihad.

We only have 4 MCG home games.

Hawthorn and Collingwood are locks. Carlton and Richmond are likely to be our double up games as we finished in the same bracket.

If our double ups are Carlton, Collingwood, Richmond, Hawthorn and Brisbane, then we could have 10 MCG games this year, with Geelong being host to the country game and Melbourne possibly hosting us at the MCG.

Nah. We'll have them at Docklands.

I assume our split will be:

9 MCG (Car x2, Col x2, Haw x2, Ric x2, Gee)
8 Docklands (Ade/PA, Bri, GC, GWS, WC, Mel, St. K, WB)
5 Interstate (Ade/PA, Bri, Fre, NM, Syd)

With the games vs St. Kilda and WB being away.

The more Saturday night games the better, not like this year with just 2 or 3 night games in total inside Victoria.
2012 we had 7 or 8 Saturday night games in a row, need that again.

Think we will need to start winning more games until we get that priveledge. With a good year next year the following year should get us back in regular prime time spots.

Saturday night is hardly prime time. There's another game on at that time that can go on 7.

What time today is the fixture released? Also, are you saying we will be playing North Melbourne in Tas?

The rumours surrounding that haven't dissipated so I reckon we will

I don't think we'll be contending for finals but if I'm wrong, double ups against Carlton, Collingwood, Brisbane, Fremantle will be a great help. I don't rate any of those mobs to be winning more that six to eight matches.
Adelaide obviously tough but it's better than Sydney or GWS.

Brisbane, Collingwood, Adelaide, Carlton, Fremantle twice.

Good result.

EDIT:

2 Friday nights, 8 Saturday nights.

11 free to air

End the season with a home game against Freo.

Only on the road twice from round 12 to 23 (SYD and GCS). At GWS in round 11 though too. Only travel 5 times, and only once to WA.

2 afternoon games against Carlton (one Saturday one Sunday)

I like it.
