I'd put money on Essendon having a game against North in Tassie.
Xavier Campbell was eating at my mate's cafe a month ago.

could also be a NAB Challenge game.

I actually don't mind playing interstate in rd 1. Not sure if stats would back it up, but the home ground advantage doesn't seem as great for some reason (Perth umpiring excepted of course).

Re the march, I think it was a oncer. It was organised by a supporter, and was embraced by all the supporters, in the face of unprecedented persecution of the club and its players, wanting to show the suspended players and the club how much they supported them.
Nonetheless, if it is going to be an annual thing, I would welcome the chance to put into practice the "never forgive, never forget" philosophy and show the football world that I am never going to forget or forgive the sins imposed on the 34 and the club.
OK I get that the club, and many supporters, want to put the saga and all its consequences behind us, and not talk about it any more, but I for one, can think of about a dozen banners I would like to hold up on the march, every year and forever.

As far as coming out en masse to welcome back the returning players, I would rather do it at a training session at the TVSC than in a game. Not sure why, maybe because it would be in house, Essendon supporters only. F@rk the rest of the football world, this is for us.

I think fremantle at home would be a good change since it was 2010 the last time it happened.

I know its probably last on the clubs request list as its a low crowd home game. But we are that crap over there 1 trip per year is heaps.

Happy with an away game against a top side to be honest.

Early in the season we are a chance at catching a team thats starting slowly or that takes us for granted. Also a likelihood of us starting badly, and if thats the case I'd rather a loss early on to a top team so that we save the easier teams for when we find some form.

All of the above may also make no sense whatsoever.

Ideal fixture.
Rd1 - Melb @ MCG (Home)
2- Carl @ G (Away)
3- Suns @ Metricon
4- Cats @ G (A) COUNTRY GAME
5- Coll @ G (H) ANZAC DAY
6- Roos @ Etihad (A)
7- GWS @ Skoda
8- Dockers @ Etihad
9- Swans @ Etihad
10- Tigers @ G (A) DREAMTIME
11- Crows @ Etihad
12- Suns @ Etihad
13- Hawks @ G (A)
14- BYE - MIDDLE BYE ROUND
15- Lions @ Gabba
16- Saints @ Etihad (H)
17- Dogs @ Etihad (A)
18- Port @ Etihad
19- Tigers @ G (H)
20- Dees @ G (A)
21- Eagles @ Etihad (H)
22- Pies @ G (A)
23- Carl @ G (H)

3 interstate trips (given we made 6 this year, and 5 were tough assignments in WA, SA and Sydney)
Repeat fixtures - Coll, Carl, Rich, Suns & Dees.
Roos and GWS are the only two 2016 top 8 teams we play in consecutive weeks.
11 home games. 4 at the G, 7 at Etihad. 9 overall games at the G.
West Coast, Adelaide, Port, Sydney and Freo all return to Vic after home games against us in 2016.

If i was confident in our ability to get this squad to work, 16 of those games are winnable.

Can't see who's going to beat us.
3 interstate trips simply does not happen.

We got it in 2006 and 2010

Freo in Melbourne please sick of playing those **** over in Perth.

Nah..us Victorians living in Perf need our yearly Freo game. It's all we have to look forward too in an otherwise boring city.

Plus, fans like me who refuse to attend WC home games only have the Freo match on offer.

And think of the little Perf bomber kids..the kids man, the kids!

Carlton, Essendon and Richmond got 6 this year
Western Bulldogs, Geelong, Melbourne*, Hawthorn*, North Melbourne*, Collingwood and St. Kilda got 5 this year. Doesn't happen anymore.
