Actually, I was looking into that the other day... and then didn't post because it's quite stat-heavy. haha. The most interesting bit is probably at the end.How many Sunday games will we get? The AFL does the fixtures based on results, expect to see the Gaints, Dogs and Cats play more prime time slots, every team usually gets a Friday night ( take away from last year Suns and Giants ) which will likely change. I am a fan of Sunday games, the early 1:10 slot is perfect, that 4:40 slot will likely be axed.
I am predicting we will have anywhere between 8-12 sunday games with a round one blockbuster against a traditional rival. Wont be Hawthorn, they play Geelong, could be Carlton, although if rumours are true they will play Norf on Good Friday. Won't be Collingwood because of ANZAC day. I am predicting either Richmond or Melbourne on the Thursday night before Good Friday.
Top six: Clubs ranked 1-6 on the 2015 ladder will have a minimum of two and maximum of three return meetings with other top six clubs. They will have a minimum of one and maximum of two return meetings with clubs ranked 7-12. They will have either no return meetings or a maximum of one return meeting with clubs ranked 13-18.
Middle six: Clubs ranked 7-12 on the 2015 ladder will have a minimum of one and maximum of two return meetings with clubs ranked 1-6 on the ladder. They will have a minimum of two and maximum of three return meetings with other middle six clubs. They will have a minimum of one and maximum of two return meetings with clubs ranked 13-18.
Bottom six: Clubs ranked 13-18 on the 2015 ladder will have either no return meeting or a maximum of one return meeting with clubs ranked 1-6. They will have a minimum of one or a maximum of two return meetings with clubs ranked 7-12. They will have a minimum of two and a maximum of three return meetings with other bottom six clubs.

The weighted fixture system is weird, and seems to be discretionary as well as following their guidelines. High-drawing timeslots are weighted towards better performing teams, with interstate teams dodging certain scenarios (probably to lessen the impact of travelling so often). We're the only team in the bottom 6 to play in any Friday night games - we had 2. Presumably because the AFL considered that our finish last year wasn't representative of what our team is capable of, although they might have had other considerations. We also didn't have a return fixture against a top 6 team.

Well worst case scenario is one return fixture against a top six team, two with middle six teams, and two with bottom six teams.... and a crap ton of stupid timeslots by virtue of the wooden spoon.Ah fantastic, did not even know there was that page, good guide. Looks as though going by that we can get a good read on when we will play and who.
Looks as though we will play the top 6 sides once which is good. Hopefully we play Brisbane, Carlton, Richmond, Port, North twice, will give us 10-12 wins, I expect us to win those games. Pinch a few others, we always match up against Collingwood well. Looking at 13-15 wins.
Is that too wishful?

Best case scenario is probably what we had this year over again. I don't think there's too much chance of getting more good time slots, because we already had more than anyone else in the bottom six this year.
Or, if we're stupid lucky, we get the match-ups of a wooden-spooner with some sort of 'what we're really capable of when we have all our players' timeslots.
Etihad is ******* perfect for me.
So we absolutely have to stay there.
So we can smack them twice.Hope we get North twice...
And NorthIdeal doubles would be Brisbane, Carlton, Richmond, Collingwood and Hawthorn IMO.
We almost never get a double against North. And North
I think it'll be between Hawthorn and Melbourne. Can we go back and pick a team worse than Melbourne for round 1? I want Hawthorn.
If our request is fulfilled, then we'd host Melbourne round one.Hopefully Melbourne get the home game against us this year and I'm pretty sure it's Geelong's turn to host the Country Game
Is it definite that we asked for Melbourne? I was hoping for Hawthorn. If our request is fulfilled, then we'd host Melbourne round one.
About time that we play them twice though, so I hope they get a home game as well
It waa reported that we asked for Melbourne round 1 MCG on a Friday night. Is it definite that we asked for Melbourne? I was hoping for Hawthorn.
Only on Easter weekends (which is probably round 2 this year)Do Hawthorn usually play Geelong Rd 1?
Very unlikely.Essendon vs Melbourne will also be 80K+.
We drew 88K vs a wooden spooner Richmond in 2007 for the Hird and Sheedy game. We weren't great either.Very unlikely.
