I'm keen to hear coaches' thoughts on the fixture for 2018. I'm assuming everyone wants to keep the "play every other team once" format of the home and away season, but does anyone have any thoughts about the bye structure and finals format?

FWIW I'm not a big fan of the GF Qualifier series but would be keen to hear other coaches' thoughts on a potential new format if we don't keep the current arrangement.

Have bye rounds in Rounds 10, 12, 13 and 14; the same rounds that AFL teams have byes in for 2018.

That leaves 15 rounds to play the H&A matches (Rounds 1-9, 11, 15-19) and the last four rounds (20-23) for the same finals structure as AFL.

Yes like it always found the finals series a little confusing with a lot of meaningless games.

Only concern is the 3 week break rounds 12 to 14 if we could squeeze a game in there a then avoid round 23 as the GF game because I know the Year I made the GF my team got affected by AFL teams resting players.

In the past I’d agree that having the GF in round 23 resulted in many players being rested but I think the AFL pre-finals bye pretty much got rid of the issue.
