Agree with the call that Grundy isn't quite A grade yet. Around the ground is great but it's the lack of HOTA that costs him. He's improving in that area but it's the low number of HOTA that costs him those monster scores (130+) which would give his average a nice bump. Until he improves his HOTA numbers can't see him going 110+, thinking 95-105 this year.

Agree with the lads above.

All we're saying is don't expect a big 110+ average.

He could easily be a super consistent 100 scorer every single week and play 22 games, so he's definitely not a bad pick, but he won't explode

Any love for Billings?

Kid has some huge potential - but body consistency is key. I think he has all the tool there to be an elite outside player of the comp, but haven't seen that quite yet. Will watch closely this pres

On a positive note-
Chad is a 2 time All Australian + 2 seasons where he averaged in the high 90s. In 5 seasons he has already played 107 games (not 1 player in his draft class has played more games) so he has been quite durable.
At the age of 23 his best years are in front of him.
95+ average is on the cards.

Very good post - can't argue with those figures. All the indicators point to him improving again, I see a 90-95 as a very safe return for mine. Now, to grow a pair big enough to select him...

For what it's worth - Heeney is an elite talent, who will step into the midfield and take the next step this year. Bookmark it.

Look forward to seeing the forward line lottery play out over the coming weeks.

Heeney found his way into my team last night. more of a gut feel than based on his previous scores though. If he plays predominantly midfield then he's a steal, if he plays mainly forward he still might make then next step up in any case.

Tom Mitchell's departure makes a huge case for his increased midfield minutes all the easier.

They have also lost a bit from the forward line, Papley out for a while on top of that too. Could be playing plenty of time forward still as they need someone to help Buddy kick all the goals.

What are peoples thoughts on NRoo? Currently in a low percentage of teams and haven't seen much talk of him. Could start the year like a house on fire with 8 of his first 10 games at Etihad. Obviously very pricey however playing on the wing in an improving St Kilda team could see scores of his former past, especially in the first half of the season.

I like him for all the reasons you mentioned. Very nice POD.

For people picking Touk Miller - why?

In that last month of football last year when he tonned up he was their best midfielder. He only had Hall, Rosa and players with less than 10+ games playing with him.

Now add Ablett, Rischitelli, Barlow, Hanley, Swallow, Lonergan, Lyons and possibly Brodie/Bowes into the midfield and you wonder how many points he will lose every week.

Very good point, but he is one of the better mid/fwd options. Maybe the best after Dalhaus and Macrae.

Who do people think are the top 5 mid/fwds?

Tox, wanna make a bet that Dahlhaus will be a top three fwd this year?

Am I the only one who thinks Lids will struggle to average 90?

I reckon he's getting nowhere near the middle, has a spot at CHF cemented.

The Giants are primed for a crack at the flag, Lids is the game winner they need, even the slightest tightness or pain and he'll get the week off.

14-16 games, 85-90 average imo

I agree with the amount of games; full season out of Lids seems extremely unlikely however I think he's primed to dominate for GWS. He loves it when his team is winning and I see GWS as a great move. Even with the spread I'm anticipating 100-105. Need to factor in those missed games, though.
