I'd like to see the Chad play midfield against an opposition trying to shut him down and hurt him.

Then I'll consider despite the bloody Rd9 bye.

Till then he just played well against other average port mids

Hmmmmm.

Well I'll be buttered on both sides

Roo, Dahl, Macrae, Ryder.
It's gonna look dodgy when round 11 comes around and i've got Ryder and 4 rookies on the field haha

I just took Roughy out of my side and it looks a lot stronger

I have no doubt he can get back to his best and I believe the Hawks will still win a lot of games, I just think it'll take him a few matches before he starts pumping out 90+ scores again

I'll need to see some bigger SC scores in the remaining 2 JLT matches before he gets back in

Does he go third tall alongside Taylor and Hawkins then? A 2013 of 76.3 across 18 games, and a 2014 of 58.2 across 22 games certainly has me interested. From what I saw, he looked hungry and fit against Hawks.
Definitely a 3rd tall type in the

Cats people could tell you more about structure/role/JS, but I'd tend to be optimistic that he can go more like that 2013 76.3, which is perfectly decent for $137K. Had a bung shoulder for a big chunk of 2014 and his scores and confidence tailed off as the season went on.

I would also happily take the 58.2 from 22 in '14 as a baseline expectation and go from there - didn't realise he carried an injury through that season. I think 60-75 is the open range for him, average wise. He's in my lineup at present, and unlikely to move.

yeah, the big complaint about his mismanagement at North was that they pressed him to keep playing through it when he could barely get his arm above his head while they pushed for a finals run in '14. From memory, Wood and Daw were both lining up for a shot at the seniors at the time. Had a shoulder reco at the end of the season and his confidence in it and attitude were down the crapper for all of '15 (compounded by having to play as a true KPF for a terrible North Ballarat side). Was headed back in the right direction when we cut back to just the Werribee alignment and had a more natural role. Then did an ankle at the most inconvenient possible time.

I feel like he's good enough to take advantage of a fresh start. A lot depends on making the most of his chances in the first few weeks I guess.

Yep
I aint gonna pick him though, too many forwards I like
I'm weighing up him, Roughead and Wingard. Higgins looks like he's being used as a midfielder this year.

How was Wingard yesterday? Missed the game besides the first quarter.

He was absolutely terrible in the 1st - 3rd
I didn't watch the 4th and then checked the SC scores and he got 100, so yeah, he's locked in
He's another CD favourite

he got 100 :eek: **** me!!!! he was ordinary. should average 200 during the year if he improves as expected.

I
I've had him in since before JLT1 on the basis that if he can play his way into the side he's a no-brainer, and the right price for a placeholder at worst. His last 2 years at NM were snake-bitten. He did go through a patch of horrible lack of confidence (and motivation maybe?) after his shoulder reco, then got the worst job in the VFL - key forward at North Ballarat. Last year was going well and probably would have slotted in for Wood but got injured at the same time.

Hasn't lost his talent and I hope the change of scene is good for him. Scott's gone tall before and he's mobile enough to play higher up the ground. Can see him pressing his case of the rest of JLT.
Is his shoulder right now? Good range of movement and all? I havnt seen him at all and I have to consier him. I guess the next one or two games he plays will tell us a lot more.

He was Shit as a mid

As Adam Cooney on SEN described today. Anything that happens in the final qtr of a practice game should be completely ignored unless its an injury.

Something along the lines of everyone stops and cruises to ensure they dont get injured

Would like to see where he plays and how he actually does when Sexy Robbie is back.

Do not read ANYTHING into Chads score from last night - junk points in a practice match are not worth even considering. Get eyes on him next game if your interested and make the call then.

There are ALOT of options at that range, I wouldn't have him high on the list.

Thoughts on jack Steele, didn't play many minutes last night?

In a footy sense, good attack on the ball and great chase/aggression through middle. Arrived to us with foot issues, and will be managed through preseason. Great mix of inside/outside we need. How that translates into SC scores in our lineup I'm not sure - I'm not looking at him personally.
