The thing that makes me pick him is we'll be better this year than we have in a very a long time.

Roo's got unfinished business, so I don't see a low 90's avg when we were at rock bottom - 13/14

Good luck to who ever is playing on him in the finals - if we were to make it
Lolz...So lunch lady Doris is in his sights?:thumbsu:

not necessarily, depending on who youre other fwds are...
There arnt many great options in the forward line this year other than perhaps Dahlhuis, Macrae and maybe Green who look like averaging more than 90 so if you pick Roo youll be picking some very ordinary forwards just to stay inside the cap

Only problem is they have about 25 players who should be in that 90-110 range, they can't all get it
Yeah I get what you're saying, the appeal for me is a fit and young small forward who gets some time through the middle, who is going to be in involved in a lot of wins

fwiw, they had 12 players go 85-105 last year

Yeppp. Dont see how i can do it.
Just been a long run with him without too many hassles over the yrs. Even when carrying an injury the bloke wouldnt shaft you by coming off at qtr time or laying down with a shit score. Still seemed to avge 90+ and give you ample time to make a decision.
Looks like it has come to an end with this years price though. Bastard will now probably go apeshit.
Too many F1-F4 types at better prices as u suggest.

For me to pick NRiewoldt, and I want to, it's a juggling act with Dahl and Macrae all R11 bye. I either cop 3 in the forward line or switch one to mids but there awaits Beams and one of Hannerbery/JPK/Parker/Bontempelli/Rockliff. I don't think not starting with Roo excludes picking him up at a later stage.

For me Riewoldt is unpickable at his price.

He's Averaged 100 just 2 of the last 6 seasons. And the only reason he got there last year was because of a monster game against brisbane in the final round.

Also as a tall forward there's a chance he can go through a lean patch,so you might get him for peanuts at some stage during the year. In 2014 he started at 560k dropped down to 340k then hit form again and rose back up to 520k by the end of the season.

he's the perfect upgrade target because I think he is bound to have a sequence of low scoring games, Whereas I'd be pretty confident in saying Macrae won't drop below 450k all year.

His role seemed to change a bit last year, not playing as deep as previous years and seems to have license to play up the ground.

Averaged 117 at Etihad in '16 (111 if you remove the monster 187 in round 23)

Saints play 8 games at Etihad in the first 10 rounds and Nick has traditionally started well each season.

Currently sitting at 5.7% ownership so a bit of a pod.

No arguments there he always seems to start the season really well. If he plays up the ground then his scoring won't be as erratic. I Wasn't aware that his numbers were that good at Etihad.

I just think he's overpriced by about 60K, before I'd even consider him.

The last two seasons his starting price was over 550K he ended up averaging 87 and 91 points, Which are pretty disappointing returns if you're forking out that much cash.

Was definitely considering Riewoldt, and still might if injuries happen to other players I have in FWD line.

For me at moment I've taken a risk choosing a KPF going with Lynch from the Suns as my F2, if I was going to pick NRoo it would be instead of Lynch so at moment won't be going in with the NRoo.

not really, there are some great value options in Roughead/Bennell/Hrovat who you could pick.

FWIW, ive got Nroo, Wingard, Ruff and Rat as my 4 fwds currently. all have the potential to go 95+

Lynch would be in my side if it wasnt for his bye . Hoping he bottoms out by then for a rd 10 pickup.

Just saw Kayne Turner is only 171k. Had a good pre-season, is injury-free and a favourite of Bard's.

Expecting Higgins and Thomas to play up the ground more and Garner and Anderson are very unlikely for round one.

Will wait to see JLT, but big chance for early games.
Problem with Kanye is that he's never shown much tendency to rack up possessions, so needs to get amongst the goals to score well. Only tonned up twice in 16 games. I guess a 70-75 average would be handy for $171K tho.

Yep, only need him to play 6-8 games to make 150-200k. At least he's somewhat proven himself at AFL level, even if only in small bursts.

Agree that his price will put a lot of coaches off him. My thinking is the change in role should reduce the roller coaster scoring of most KPPs a little. Always risk attached of course if he starts slow I probably won't lose too many points to other forwards but could lose $50-80k pretty quick. If he goes nuts at Etihad over the first 10 weeks I probably get a slight jump in points over most forward lines depending on where others use the $ they save not having Nroo.

Certainly a lot to think about with Nroo, thanks for the discussion.

Yeah I've gone with 6 super premo mids so I'm being extremely stingy in my forward line. but anybody whose spreading their money more evenly will find it much easier to afford him.

You've Certainly given me a bit to think about with his etihad scoring history

Pending JLT form. But out of these two which would you go with right now?

Franklin F2 and Hrovat F5
Heeney F3 and Ryder F4

I have been keen on Hrovat since he was drafted and a new club excites me as a SC player.

Heeney and Ryder. Or Miller and Ryder.
