I appreciate his ability to bust out a 150+ but only 8 or 9 tonnes in 22 games.

Plus relies purely on goals.
Plus the 60/70 scores and he's only averaged 95+ once. Should be a good pick up after the crap scores.
Durable and a decent run home. One of those 150 scores will be nice during finals.

For me Riewoldt is unpickable at his price.

He's Averaged 100 just 2 of the last 6 seasons. And the only reason he got there last year was because of a monster game against brisbane in the final round.

Also as a tall forward there's a chance he can go through a lean patch,so you might get him for peanuts at some stage during the year. In 2014 he started at 560k dropped down to 340k then hit form again and rose back up to 520k by the end of the season.

he's the perfect upgrade target because I think he is bound to have a sequence of low scoring games, Whereas I'd be pretty confident in saying Macrae won't drop below 450k all year.

If you're going to remove the monster game against Brisbane, then add the would-have-been monster game vs Collingwood.

86 SC and didn't play any further part in the game after going off the ground with concussion in the 2nd quarter- with still 9 minutes of playing time remaining.

I'm still super keen on either Toby Greene or Devon Smith
Need to see some JLT action to see if they get a solid run through the middle
CD rate Tobias as elite. Still very young and should improve. I saw some stat from them saying that from 2013-2016 only 6 players have averaged 20 possies and 2 goals... 4 are brownlow winners, 1 is Selwood and the other is Greene.

The thing that makes me pick him is we'll be better this year than we have in a very a long time.

Roo's got unfinished business, so I don't see a low 90's avg when we were at rock bottom - 13/14

Good luck to who ever is playing on him in the finals - if we were to make it
At his age it's not hard to sneak up on him like a librarian...

His role seemed to change a bit last year, not playing as deep as previous years and seems to have license to play up the ground.

Averaged 117 at Etihad in '16 (111 if you remove the monster 187 in round 23)

Saints play 8 games at Etihad in the first 10 rounds and Nick has traditionally started well each season.

Currently sitting at 5.7% ownership so a bit of a pod.
Considering starting him, and then flicking him at top price pre-byes...

Dare I say his name, but what do people think of Higgins? One of a few players who are good enough to go 90-95, Roos have a lot of points up for grabs, and he has a tasty Round 12 bye! Currently in my time pending JLT
In order to get a big slice of pie, first you have to have a pie.

I have to scoff at the Nick Riewoldt is unpickable call.

Last season.

12 x 100+ scores
6 x 79-93 scores
3 dud scores of 33, 45 and 69.

He'd jumped to $572K by Round 9 which is when you'd like to start upgrading, which you wouldn't bring him in.

His Round 14-22 wasn't as good as his start then obviously the 187 in the final round.

Using last year as a guide, you were best to start with him then sideways trade to another forward Round 15-16 who may have had a dip in price, pocketed the cash and hopefully got a little higher scoring.

Selwood has never averaged 2 goals per game in a season before. Who were the other 4 players?

Caleb Daniel being flagged for more of an inside role, although he is pretty irrelevant given most will want to atleast end the year with Dahl and Macrae. But could be a POD for someone.

Yeah, a bit of a POD for standard SC. I'll be looking to pick him up in my draft cash league though.

Roughy played very well in the intra club, played the full match and switched between forward line and midfield.

Interestingly Gunston was apparently BOG playing on a wing.
Gunston interests me but has some stinkers.
Hoping to get him cheap around the byes

I reckon he's a great pick this year. I don't think he'll improve THAT much, probably average around 95-100 like he has the last three years. But I think his low scores will go from 40's and 50's to 70's and 80's due to him getting more ball on the wing. Big fan of his selection, he'll be my F3 if I choose to go with three premos up top.

Same. A forward line of
Dahl Macrae Gunston Roughie sounds sexy.
Should be able to fit him in with Ryder at R2 to join them in round 10.
That's fowards almost done.

Looks nice

Only thing is, are you gonna be leaving enough spots vacant for the breakouts or rooie? ;)

Might not need him.
Roos best dcores will come before the byes when his elite fitness smokes all that play on him, plus all the games at etihad.

There's every chance those 4 end up top 10 FWDs so Roo likely misses out.
JJK would be nice after the byes.
Or Buddy if he's over his addiction to pies.

Start with Roo and plan to switch to JJK

I reckon cockatoo could be worth a look. The coaches been saying he's been the standout during training and reckon he's in for a breakout year. Awkwardly priced though based off his 60 average last year.

I would assume the Brownlow medallists in those years. That was the literal quote, they didn't name others. I will have to check my AFL prospectus and see if the campaigners are just printing flat out BS

But nah seriously I think both Lang & Cockatoo will improve quite a lot this season but they are both awkwardly priced + won't improve so much to be worthwhile selections.

Only Geelong players I would tell people to consider in the first place would be Danger, J. Selwood, Thurlow, Tuohy, Stewart, Black & Motlop. And if you've got massive balls then Menegola.

I have Danger, Thurlow, Stewart & Black out of those at moment.

That's ballsy as hell. And I like it. He'll rip Etihad a new one on the wing in that opening draw... still a bit of a risk at his price, and Richardson flagging he will be managed through season.
