I reckon he's a great pick this year. I don't think he'll improve THAT much, probably average around 95-100 like he has the last three years. But I think his low scores will go from 40's and 50's to 70's and 80's due to him getting more ball on the wing. Big fan of his selection, he'll be my F3 if I choose to go with three premos up top.

From a coache's perspective, you wouldn't want to have one of the most deadliest kicks in the game away from the goals for too long. If he is going up on a wing, it would have to be very minimal.

Just my two cents.

Roughy played very well in the intra club, played the full match and switched between forward line and midfield.

Interestingly Gunston was apparently BOG playing on a wing.

28 and 2. Just about forced his way into my side. Only thing holding me back is having him and Rough.

Selwood has never averaged 2 goals per game in a season before. Who were the other 4 players?
Okay so I got my wires crossed :S

The stat for Greene is that he is the second player since 1999 to av at least 20 disposals, 1.5 goals and 2 score assists. So an elite mix of possies and score involvements.

I got that garbled with the stat for Prestia, which is that he is 1 of 7 players to av at least 10 cont pos and 400m gained since 2013 (not sure if that is total or just in a season). The other 6 are the 4 Brownlow medallists, Selwood and Jack Steven.

He'll play more wing than forward and be a FAR better footballer for it

I have to scoff at the Nick Riewoldt is unpickable call.
Last season.
12 x 100+ scores
6 x 79-93 scores
3 dud scores of 33, 45 and 69.
He'd jumped to $572K by Round 9 which is when you'd like to start upgrading, which you wouldn't bring him in.
His Round 14-22 wasn't as good as his start then obviously the 187 in the final round.
Using last year as a guide, you were best to start with him then sideways trade to another forward Round 15-16 who may have had a dip in price, pocketed the cash and hopefully got a little higher scoring.
Too much common sense. Not making it easy, but this is what these threads are for....so thanx. I dropped in here coz he;s almost my last decision and price is causing issues naturally enough.
But having run with him again last season i also noticed him playing CHB and even FB. The lower scores were from him sacrificing his own game to play back due to injuries they had. As someone else mentioned as wel, there was a game he was 90odd at half time when he came off. The guy had a truly great season and was surprised he didnt make AA yet again this time as a bench utility. 22disp 11 mks 40 goals...that is serious game without the luxury of being settled in one role. If he spent all the time mid/fwd it would have been seriously big.
His draw at Docklands, plus not having the captaincy shackles.... it keeps gnawing at me to pay up. If they dont have KPD injuries and their fwd line is finally settled, he could be truly massive.
Love the odd high risk play. Leaning back toward him. If he was a 22yo i wouldnt hesitate.

They have Nathan Brown and Jake Carlisle this year.

He won't be playing as a defender.

But how do you come to that conclusion?

That you move one of the comp's best kickers away from goal?
more strings to his bow.
Gunston will become a much more versatile player for it.

he will use his kicks to put them inside 50 and hit up Vickery/Roughead/McEvoy/Breust etc.

you werent thinking broadly enough on this subject

not a lot of love for JJK in here?

looking at the numbers last year - my fave bit?

"22 games played"
its just a matter of whether or not you're prepared to cop 60's with the 140's. his average should see him in or around the top forwards but scoring fluctuation will be huge.
he's slightly overpriced for mine.

Clarko is all about versatility. I'm not saying he'll play only on the wing, but he won't be camped inside 50 like he was at times last year.

he generally starts the year well too

I prefer Tom Lynch's (GC) upside though

Still reckon Heeney will play forward more than people think. Especially while Papley is injured. Plus McGlynn and Richards are gone.

#SuperCoach Alert.
Isaac Heeney starts in the midfield in Sydney's intra-club match at Marrickville.

Worth noting that there is no JPK or Parker participating.

His team has Mills and KJ. Hannebery is playing but on the other team.

Bit of a rumour going around that Dahl broke his nose at training, but haven't seen anything official. Probably nothing.

What do you think he's MID rotation will be like this year in Titchells absence? Or do you think Mills/JPK take more of those minutes, and Heeney stays largely forward?

One thing i like about JJK is i think he's a good VC option when Eagles are at home. He can really go large on his good days. That said I would never put him as captain because he's too unreliable and his stinkers would cost you tons of points.

Before Papley injury I would have said he would be more mid. If no one steps up in JLT to replace Papley he might have to play a bit forward until he comes back. I still think he will be predominantly a midfielder as it looks like KJ will be the one playing forward more based off the intraclub.
