Still not sold on the nank tbh, are people selecting him purely as cover for sandi or do they genuinely think he's going to finish top 6 forwards?
Purely as cover from what I've seen, although some are backing him in at R2 with no cover - Preuss/Cameron, thus costing one trade if he were to go down rather than having to upgrade both Nank/Sandi

Steele has a better chance of finishing in top 6 over Nankervis IMO

If he were purely an R would people be selecting him? I doubt it. I don't think it's a good enough reason to invest $366k on, I'd prefer that exact price on a fallen premo like Roughy who has been in the top echelon of forwards for multiple seasons in the past. Taranto would need to average at least 75 to be worth his initial investment, he would make $150k by his bye averaging that.

Exactly.

More flavour of the week Nank, most will come to their senses come round 1 lockout IMO

Sandi is worth the risk at R2 alone, I for one will be going Gawnstein

Teams with established ruckmen always tend to experiment with their ruck stocks in the pre-season, I recall Goldy having some very quiet pre-seasons when they gave Currie a run, I wouldn't worry about either him of Gawn not backing up this season and finishing top 2 again. Sandi presents some serious value though with the obvious risk.

Was just looking at (won't actually do it)

Goldy>Hickey & Taranto>Steele but that's playing it risky IMO

Why risky?

Taranto has rookie job security

Steele looks like the JJ/A Hall of last year.

Will jizz all over your team with all those etihad games early with Roo leading the way.

Strongly considering him as my only breakout contender for my whole side.

Hall finished off the previous season, the last 8 games or so scoring at premium forward levels, Steele has never done anything near that outside of three pre-season games here.

True but he was never given a chance.
Stuck playing fill in roles on a forward pocket amongst the best midfield in the comp.

Hall was a more experienced and bigger bloke left to play exclusively on the ball in a shit midfield where he was clearly the best, most damaging player.

Plus Hall was 100k dearer start of last year.

Taranto or Turner? Both are good options and Turner has had time to develop at least... Taranto could be in 4 rounds and out for a round don't you guys think?

Currently running with Dahl, Macrae, Roughead, Steele, WHE, Taranto, (Butler, Eddy).

This year's forwards are so hard to pick. Only really convinced by Dahl & Steele.

Macrae v Buddy v JJK ??
Rough v Nank ??

The forwards are tricky this year - definitely the line causing me the most headaches. I am starting to think that the usual premo / rookie structure might not be suitable. Aside from Dahlhaus, none of the more expensive forwards pick themselves (at least to my mind).

Then you have an interesting batch of mid-pricers who could become premiums; Roughy, Higgins, Miller, Billings, Steele, Nankervis, etc. And on the next line you have the likes of WHE, Taranto, Turner, McCarthy, Stewart, Bowes, Florent, etc who are all priced above the typical rookie starting price. Of those at bargain basement price, only Eddy has really stood out.

Going to be hard to get it right, but I think you could be very well rewarded if you do.

I'm going with Dahlhaus, Macrae, Greene, Billings, Steele, Eddy as starting Forwards
