If Roughy is one of a couple of risk calls, his value based on prior scoring performance, says he's worth the risk ......do i think he'll be a keeper? ...no!
I expect Roughy to run out of gas in the 2nd half of the season

you could do worse. forward options are very thin this year.
Steeles highest average is what? 60 something and people are expecting a 30 point ride in avg. Has another player ever lifted their avg by 30 points in one season?
Anthony Miles averaged 70 (7 games) in 2012 and 57 (3 games) in 2013.
Then moved to Richmond and averaged 99.9 (12 games) in 2014.
Where did he move from? GWS

This year I'm trying to keep GWS players out of my team so I can enjoy watching the games without worrying about their scoring on SC. I'm leaning towards WHE, but Taranto is really tempting me.

Now Lids and Cogs are out, I think it really opens up a case for Taranto. Flawless preseason for a rookie really, it was only just a matter of JS.
You're talking about a player getting opportunity for one, which he never quite got trying to break into the GWS blue chip midfield. Who's holding him out of stk's? Stevens, Armitage (even he dropped off significantly in 16'), Ross & Newnes are more outside mids.
Finds the ball alot, most of which is contested, is a tackling machine, can kick goals....@ 350k & a DPP!!

Over the JLT, he had a total of 3 shots on goal for 1 goal 2 behinds. Only practice games and probably just running more mid to get fitness up, but is he likely to kick less goals this year?
With Hawks maybe finding it harder to score than previous years will his goal kicking drop?
I looked back at 2015 and studied games where he kicked 1 goal or zero goals.
He had 10 games of 1 goal or less for an average of 80. That includes an outlier score of 150. Remove that and his average is 72. So he clearly needs to kick goals to score well.
I'm not certain we'll see Roughy get back to his absolute best, kicking bags and scoring 150's. Think he may average 80-85.

Couldn't agree more. Absolute poison pick. I put a red line through him circa 2013-14 after another injury fluffed year at the dogs & barring one good run at it in 15' nothing'srealky changed. North aren't going to be strong either....yuck.
Does anyone like Ryder as a fwd, esp as duel ruck?? Really liked what I saw from him in JTL 3 & from what I read they'll be going with him solo Rd 1. Don't see it beyond him ave 90-100. Prob 70-80k unders due to the 12 months off too.

I have done this too as rucks are a clusterf***!
Get the two best R/Fs who appear underpriced and pair them with Sandi.
Trade the worst performing one out for the best performing ruckman!
This will all change if Gawn or Goldstein go in to the season as the sole ruckman!
But this is a forwards thread.... I digress
