Unless the cap increases considerably 1.5m for Fyfe is too much. But maybe we could do 1.5m for 2 years dropping back to 1m for 3 more. This will free up space when we need to keep our next lot of players 2 years down the track.
All we can do is keep trying but no need to get too excited as it probably wont happen.
A midfeild of Fyfe, Sloane, B. Crouch, M. Crouch. Mmmm.
Hahaha pretty sure if Fyfe leaves it will be to the highest bidder, dropping his wage is something that Fyfe wouldn't accept. If we want Fyfe or Martin be prepared to have the cash available, they will not be moving because they love the club they are going to but they do love the $$$$$$$
Rather Martin and rocky as previously stated
Million plus for Martin that's what the bid will be
Our war chest is enormous. Enormous! There is no possible way we have spent it all!!
We just, ah, um, struggle to use it due to unforeseen circumstances... yeah! That's it...
The war chest exists. It's just that no one we need really wants to come here.
Despite the attraction of Adelaide as a city, Dusty won't take a pay cut
So its more like one of those 'war chests' you hid in the playground at primary school than a russia style 'war chest'
Oh it's a Russian style warchest. It's just that we are the equivalent of Mongolia.
Surely you would want to go to Mongolia ahead of Russia
Not when you could go to Florence.
Dont know why we didnt go for rocky this off season instead of Gibbs. A much better option and surely would have cost less.
Because the club does not want people who joke about chicks on twitter.
Maybe they sounded him and Brisbane out and they were told a flat no, it's likely Brisbane would have said that, these contracted players are under an obligation of their existing clubs as we we'll and truly discovered
Because we could get the 4 first round picks he was worth on the 'Gibbs scale of trade value'
Reckon he would have just cost the one. Surely Jared Lyons could have been used in the mix considering they took his brother in the draft. Maybe Lyons plus next years first or second surely would have got it done. What do they really need him for one more season fighting off the wooden spoon and then losing him for nothing. Lyons might have been enough.
Why whats the point. They arent contending. They will lose him for nothing next season. They could have front loaded some players this year and made room in their cap down the track. Also get at least something for him now. They would be better off with a trade that netted them Poholke than one more season of a player that will be gone when they are aby chance at finals. They could be blooding one of their awesome draftees instead.
So if you want to keep a player you need to back end their contract so they want to finish it, or the other team has to come up with a deal to take some of their payments as well as a pick.
A LOTR pic? Don't make a Hobbit of it
Fyfe aint coming for 750k and then 330k per year.
We would need to pay Fyfe $1.3 million over 7 years to lure him
Martin is the man with form and durability, Fyfes value is still somewhat of unknown until we see how he comes back this year if he fails and breaks down what does his value become if he gets through but has an ordinary year what is it worth or if he regains his form and fitness he probably reaches that 1.3 mill
Hahaha. No, $1.5m, $1.5m, $1m, $1m, $1m (average $1.2m) or something of the like. I doubt he is really asking for $1.5m for 5. So whatever it is, front load the first couple of years.
