Yes sorting out the chaff from the wheat. Suspect with Weller it really is about his girlfriend's wants re being with her family etc and friends and what has come out in the interview too is perhaps he has never really been close with teamates at Freo, not bonded with the group. Probably not the case but there' something there can't put the finger on. If he's knows what has been offered to Freo and he thinks it is so good why has it not been revealed in the media...at least as a whisper? Maybe he under vaues himself and it's a crap offer LOL.
Ironically, the rumour when we drafted him was that GC didn't want him because they thought he would be a flight risk to Melbourne (city). The first comment he made when he came to Freo was how boring the 4 hour flight from Qld was. We took a risk when we picked him, by the sounds of it, and now it is coming back to bite us. Not everyone is going to love living in Perth, we need to accept that. It is a long way from friends and family in the Eastern states and many people put friends and family high on there list of priorities. That's fair enough.
He wants out and I want him gone.

No, Ross Lyon worked him too hard, trying to please the board of directors and ruined the player. He was picked up by us at pick 2 in the draft and you reemed is with 16 & 35.
Do your homework before sprouting..
Just want to keep it amicable as you will have more guys wanting to head home in the coming years and when the shoes on the other foot you will expect it to be handled correctly also!

I tend to agree there, no way in hell we screwed GC with Bennell. It was fair. What's subsequently happened with Bennell is on Freo as a club, not GC.

Did you even read that link?

Reality is that Gold Coast have a problem with their medical staff, and we inherited the problem.
Lyon made his comments with respect to moving forward, not apportioning blame.

We have been amicable with Gold Coast on numerous occasions. It’s time for the Suns to return the favours.

They were waiting for the Jack Watts trade to see if a pick between 47 and 66 became available. Watts traded late yesterday meant 66 was the best we could get. It is really a goodwill trade. Melbourne could low ball us to pick him up as DFA or PSD. A trade similar to Shane Kersten.

This quote from Balic made it worthwhile:
“I'd like to thank everyone from the Fremantle Football Club, from Ross and 'Bondy', to Kim Mercer, Mark Anderson, Jason Weber and everyone in between," Balic said.

"I thank the football club for believing in me and drafting me. Not only did they believe in me, they helped shape me as a person on and off the field.”

They helped me overcome a wrist injury, as well as helping me off the field to become a much stronger and overall a much better person.

"I couldn't stress enough how thankful I am to be given the opportunity to pursue a lifelong dream."
"I repaid them by walking out on them three times and refusing to go ever go back. I then nominated a club that gave Fremantle #66. F**k right off Balic".

Hey think about this. Fremantle don't want to pay GWS a first rounder as Wilson didn't finish in the top 10 of his club B&F, very hypocritical considering that Weller also did not but your club is asking for Pick 2.

C'mon mate. This is as bad as those morons from GWS. It's a completely different situation. Wilson is much older, is a half back not a midfielder, has given quite a few more years of service than Weller's 2 (ie is at his peak), and has a legitimate reason for requesting a trade (his partner is pregnant) and his family is actually at the destination he is seeking. He doesn't fill a priority area for us - we are helping get a guy home for personal reasons. You can't relate the two trades as they are nothing alike.

So far we've lost:
Crozier for pick 40. (We picked him at 20 and put a few years of development into him.)
Balic for pick 66. (We picked him at 38 and fixed his wrist.)
Weller has said he wants out to GCS

What the **** happened? Better get the Wilson deal done. This has been a terrible trade period so far.

Ps. Fortunately, Suban hasn't been snapped up just yet....

What about if it's based on the financial offer from the club? That $800,000 for five years kinda blows your argument out of the water.

Should consider trading Ablett for 19, packaging 19 and 22 to WCE for 13 and like a 5th rounder and then sending 13 to Fremantle for Weller along with Matera. Maybe an extra pick if it’s still not sweet enough.
One of your other picks in the 20's too. Cheers.

Where a player ends up in a B&F is not a good reflection of them as a player, you could finish 1st in a B&F in a team that wins 1 game and be filled with crabs, does that mean they're better than a player finished outside top 10 in a top club? Think about our teams in the 1990's glory be.

Terry Wallace about to go on trade radio for those, hope he doesn't talk about points because they're irrelevant unless we have academy players in this years draft.
