So far we've lost:
Crozier for pick 40. (We picked him at 20 and put a few years of development into him.)
Balic for pick 66. (We picked him at 38 and fixed his wrist.)
Weller has said he wants out to GCS

What the **** happened? Better get the Wilson deal done. This has been a terrible trade period so far.

Ps. Fortunately, Suban hasn't been snapped up just yet....
I felt that way last night until I took a deep breath... But I don't mind it anymore - think it will end up for the best in the long run. Croz is inconsistent and not as good as Ryan or Wilson at half back, and not good enough as a half forward and we have better wingers already. I'd be surprised if Balic makes it at AFL level - everyone knows AFL success requires a mindset and he doesn't seem to have it. And Weller is a talented guy but if we get fair compensation I think we can get someone just as talented that is more vested in the club.

Where a player ends up in a B&F is not a good reflection of them as a player, you could finish 1st in a B&F in a team that wins 1 game and be filled with crabs, does that mean they're better than a player finished outside top 10 in a top club? Think about our teams in the 1990's glory be.
Are you referring to Gary Ablett this year?

Terry Wallace about to go on trade radio for those, hope he doesn't talk about points because they're irrelevant unless we have academy players in this years draft.
Gold Coast Give up 2 & 21 for 7 & 8 (to StK)
Gold Coast give 7 or 8 for Weller

Not really groundbreaking - that was discussed ages ago.

If we get a decent return for Weller and then get Wilson I'll agree with you. Until then, melting is commencing.

Jack Martin, one of their four (maybe five) 2nd rounders and Matera. He will play 200+ games (more than the other three combined would), as the devastatingly handsome face of the club. He actually wants to be there, somehow. Otherwise, see you next year, when GC will lose him to a Victorian bidding war when they can't afford to put the same terms to him and St Kilda finally get their million-dollar man.

Especially when they will be spending all their time trying to keep Lynch on the list.

Hey guys, not trying to be a peanut on your board. I hope the list managers get this done for both clubs and we only have to pay overs without getting reemed. I think if your list staff hold tight on our pick 2 then that’s great for you guys but we have more WA boys than you have QLD boys so it would go in swings and round abouts. Best to keep it all amicable and everyone is happy moving forward. Last thing we need is strained relations. All the best.
No, Ross Lyon worked him too hard, trying to please the board of directors and ruined the player. He was picked up by us at pick 2 in the draft and you reemed is with 16 & 35.
Do your homework before sprouting..
Just want to keep it amicable as you will have more guys wanting to head home in the coming years and when the shoes on the other foot you will expect it to be handled correctly also!

You're going to need to try harder

2 picks under 26 + Matera and I'd jump at it. Gets us a pick for Wilson, into the second round of this years draft and we keep a full deck of picks for next year.
When the new first broke, I was thinking the same thing: pick for Wilson, 2nd rounder for us, and Matera for nothing extra.

But then you here about how much they value him (800k for 5 years), and I think that they need to try harder. If they want him that much, they can show us some more love.

And if not, we take the risk he doesn't blow a knee in 2018.

I tend to agree there, no way in hell we screwed GC with Bennell. It was fair. What's subsequently happened with Bennell is on Freo as a club, not GC.

but he did have the calf problems before he came to us....but agree we took the risk on both fronts. We knew what we were facing.

Ironically, the rumour when we drafted him was that GC didn't want him because they thought he would be a flight risk to Melbourne (city). The first comment he made when he came to Freo was how boring the 4 hour flight from Qld was. We took a risk when we picked him, by the sounds of it, and now it is coming back to bite us. Not everyone is going to love living in Perth, we need to accept that. It is a long way from friends and family in the Eastern states and many people put friends and family high on there list of priorities. That's fair enough.
He wants out and I want him gone.
There is a little bit of gen Y 'work life balance' in there though - 'theres more to life than footy'

And sure there is, but when you're paid a half mill a year for what could be anywhere from a 5-10 year block on average to set yourself up for the remaining 60 years of your life - working away for a short time isn't such a big deal. Entitled ****s.

One part of me says 'good on them' and another part says 'harden up'
