Mayne, Crozier, Balic
Losing Mayne was a relief, Balic should never have been recruited (any parent who says they will pay for their son not to go interstate should have been a major red flag, even if it was after he was drafted he labelled himself as a "bit of a mother's boy so would have been a risk) and Crozier has promised potential but not really delivered.

Yeah but the Lyon Koolaid Krew will still tell you that we are excellent at retaining players despite having 3 players walk out on the club in the last 2 seasons.
And thank christ Mayne did walk hey! Steal of the ******* century that was.

Sometime I don't know what you want , if he really not looking after by Lyon ,moving to Bulldog is the best solution for the club and Croz .
In all honesty i can understand if people dis-satisfied with the current state of affairs, though i think its incredibly short-sighted. But clearly Ydraw is due a nap or something given the tirade. I would love to see someone argue with a straight face how Lyon has ruined the club from the point he took over

Well they can't yet , 2012-2015 that is 4 years of success , 2016-2017 ( rebuild /a bit of down period ) so if he had another so so year in 2018 . The score will be 4- 3. Freo can't forever in rebuild mode from Bennell to possibility of Wilson and Matera.
7 recruit from other club (2015-2017).

So post their choke extra time final against The West Coast, Kochy goes berko, smashing the players and selection, issuing this ultimatum...
"If they're not prepared to win a premiership for this club, we basically don't want them. Let us know and we'll trade them"

"...We only want players who are not living their dream playing AFL, but ones who want to live their dream by playing in an AFL grand final."

Something positive amid the little storm cloud that just passed

I love it here: Hamling

The trade period can be a stressful time for players, but it wasn’t something Joel Hamling got too caught up in.

The 24-year-old came to the club from the Western Bulldogs via the 2016 trade period.

Reflecting on that time last year and his first year in purple the 24-year-old says he is happy to be home.

“Nothing really stresses me out, so I left it up to my manager, and I took it all in my stride,” Hamling said.

“I was speaking to Freo all throughout the year and getting a gauge on where I would play in the side and after the season finished I came and toured the club.”

Hamling played in the Bulldogs’ 2016 Grand Final win and said the emotions that come with winning a premiership were ‘massive’.

“I had to make a decision to stay or go and at the end of the day I think it was the best thing for me to come back home to WA,” Hamling said.

“My old teammates at the Bulldogs were really supportive and I had to put the emotions of the grand final behind me and make the move.”

“I love it back here, it’s beautiful.

“The weather is great and I get to play footy with 45 of my best mates and get to see my family everyday.

“What more could I ask for?”

I too, hated going to the GF and being minor premiers 2 years later. That sucked.
If ladder position is all that counts to you then why aren'\t you baying for blood right now?

Lyon made us shit to watch. Now we are still shit to watch and also playing like shit. Can't wait for him to **** off.

Efficiency isnt the only thing that matters. Aesthetics matter too.

Michael Bevan single handedly worked out a superior tactic for 50 over cricket that made us almost unbeatable. But in the process he made the format unwatchable and boring to the point where it isn't likely to survive this decade.

That is what Ross Lyon tried to do in AFL and that's why they changed the rules to ensure he wasn't successful. Now he's out of ideas.

Footy club play differently some more attacking and some more defensive , if you win the flag nobody care you play defensively or attacking football . This include other sport such as basketball ,soccer or tennis.

We haven't won a flag though. We've won nothing and in the last few years weve won nothing in an unattractive and boring fashion.
