Would we do Freos first for Gov and McCartin for Freos first?

Saints may be getting nervous about this pick now and if Freos first is around 6-8 then it may be worth taking the loss amd going again.
If McGovern does want home we couldn't get their 1st round pick done quick enough....

Very surprised he hasn't yet got a game this year. Would be a good one to chase.

Like your suggestion of Bailey Williams, too. His game against the Tigers last week was very good.
And both out of contract at year's end, Williams a Glenelg boy and Webb a Gippy boy so probably no go home factor there especially if moving for more opportunity.

Their job isn't to 'chase players'
This. A thousand times this

If you identify a need, locate a player, do due diligence, decide to pursue him: then you get no points for failing to land him

There was no obligation to make him the target, but once you do: close

The need originally identified that led us to targeting a player to solve that need, also doesn't magically disappear because it got a bit hard

And don't ******* lie & spin about the guy not being a target who landed in your lap 5 mins before trade period after he reached out to us

I don't think we were anywhere near as serious about him as our resident Collingwood loving troll seems to think. Polec's lack of interest in Adelaide, and Adelaide's lack of trading commodities, both probably had a part in our lack of interest.
Polecs lack of interest in us is another of your after the event figments of imagination

Nah Sanders said NEAFL form is no good and didn't rate him even when Jack was absolutely dominating at that level
Correct. I say that as does every other serious commentator.

I take it you disagree?

......this is the bloke that actually rates Tyrone Vickery.....
Is that meant to be actual argument?

He's out of contract - I wouldn't rule it out . He's country NSW

It would take something special like a 6-7 yr contract but I'd be considering it if we thought he was the man to help make us better

Given I haven't paid enough attention to all the GWS players, if we lost Gov and given it isn't like for like ( I think) would he ease the pain if he was what we got for losing Gov?

It does mean the statistical arguments based on neafl #'s are not soundly formed
Agreed and no 2 NEAFL games are the same

Eg a Sydney v GWS NEAFL game where the AFL teams are at full strength is a very good standard with plenty of 1st and 2nd round draft picks whereas a game with a bottom NEAFL side is miles of VFL or SANFL
