I think that a few people may have some unrealistic expectations when it comes to trade time. Both in regards to outcomes and the ongoing reporting.
Essentially this is an ongoing negotiating process that has dynamic external factors involved with every scenario.
There is a reason that trades fall after significant pieces get done.
The static media have it the toughest, they have created a CNN type environment without the sufficient content to fill it, couple this with the fact that they are less likely to have significant information passed to them early, they rely on speculation, personality and past analysis to fill the time.
The Twitterati are the most entertaining and the most likely to have early money on big deals, they are also the most likely to be manipulated by internal sources as there is less downside for the source to sell furries as they are only taking down a character rather than a journos/insiders career. They most likely all have some actual sources.
As for our trades, unfortunately we don't do them in a vacuum, there is exchange value vs use value, there is also exchange value vs available value. The Danger trade was a victim of this, horrible result for us but there wasn't a lot more, holding out for a future 1st instead of the 2nd and Gore would of been better.
I'd like to see us bring in a couple ready made players to fill the holes left by Smith, Lever and Cameron. Although Dodee/Keath should be able to do the Lever role, Hampton could replace Cameron and the Seed after a full preseason will play in a similar way to smith.
Sit back and enjoy, we are not going to atone for September in October.
