Can't understand why the cats would start favorites against the Tigers. The tigers are the form team of the comp (behind us) and it's being played at the G.
The following post from the main board could explain why the Cats are favourites. Posted by a studious but nervous tiger fan


"The last time Richmond defeated Geelong was in 2006.

The last time Richmond defeated Geelong at the MCG was round 12 1999.

Only a few weeks ago, Geelong without their FF and Captain. Still won!

Geelong is the only side Damien Hardwick has never defeated as coach.

The last time Richmond won a Final on September 8th was in 1928.

Geelong hold the greatest ever winning margin against Richmond during this time, when they defeated Richmond 222-65. The worst loss in Richmond's history.

The Tigers have won 1 of the last 21 against Geelong.

Richmond last won a final in 2001, and lastly, in 1995 when Richmond finished third and got the double chance, had their pants pulled down against...Geelong.

The statistics are quite ugly, it's the Ultimate Powerhouse Vs. The Ultimate Underdogs.

As a Richmond supporter, the odds are so stacked against us, we're a knife in a gunfight. But I'll be there, just because ..."
