True, only positive if I remember correctly is that barlow was 550k or so when it happened so he was pretty much a sideways trade to another premo
Got him for Nicky Dal from memory, ended up making money on the trade.

I dont know who I got but undoubtedly they went shithouse as soon as I got them.
Nicky Dal was a supercoach stud back in his St Kilda days, heavily tagged he would turn to absolute shit however. Could go huge though, had him when he scored 190 against the Suns from memory.

Pendles, Swan and Beams was another great era, all went 120+ one year. Maybe around 2011-12.

And Sidebottom aswell went 110 or close to it same season as Beams went 120, both as forwards, plus Dangerfield went nuts that season as a forward too. Was getting like 400 points just from the top three forwards that season.

Gaz with a lazy 138 average that year. That must have been the year when in the last 5 rounds there was round where many people clocked over 3000, par was like 2800-2900.

What a time to be alive!

Round 21 from memory, I think I scored close to 750 points from the St Kilda vs Richmond game from 5 players. Got high 2700s, by far my highest score.

Just looked it up, Montagna 172, Nicky Dal 170, Goddard 144, Roo 136, Lids 140. 762 from 5 players. Can't remember if I captained Goddard. What a game!

Sorry you're right, i was looking at 2010. Those were the days when a 170 was actually a phenomenal game and not hundreds of meaningless disposals in an uncompetitive team.

Lions game from 2014, had 4 lions. Zorko 160, Hanley 190, Rocky (C) 175 and Stef 130....Think I went 2600+

Bowden excelled in useless possesions. Maybe scoring system has tightened up but those years ago predating Supercoach when run by the Australian newspaper, he was.gold.

Who are today's meaningless possession accumulaters?

Some suggestions

Rockliff
Mitchell (hawks )
Merrett

Yep SC didn't used to differentiate between contested and uncontested possessions.

Bowden would score like like Gaff if today's scoring method was used back then.

Sure was. Another essential for years. Killed it by consistency. Took a yr or two to sink in before everyone realised he;d never miss a game and score so consistently that by mid-late season he was always a top 5 mid. Classy and immaculate delivery. Under todays scoring would be top 5 still. He held the SC overall scoring record for many yrs. If u didnt start him he could spend month after month sitting out of the price range of everyone, until that one game when a tagger would put a saddle on him and completely ride him into the ground...and his price would drop.

Barlow's debut season was legendary. Scored just 50 on the bubble and still went up 120K.

Kane Cornes was another. Quite a good player in his day but his scores i think outweighed his actual impact. The master of the dinky kick to then receive a follow up handball
