Sick to death of our club when it comes to news. they give us fans no access. its a disgrace how cagey and reluctant they are to tell us news.
its Weds late morning and we still have no news. surly they have known since Monday morning about Talia and Knight and how many weeks they will miss? FFS!

Pyke was a little quick in denying any link with hamstrings and the fitness program. I'm not sure how he could come to that conclusion in such a short time. His comment "that's footy, that's what happens" is insulting! Thats what you tell a five year old when you have no idea.

I think most supporters understand these things can happen. I also think the club has a responsibility to monitor their procedures and be a little more up front about these things.
And why exactly do you think that the club would not be looking into it or evaluating everything as they go?!

Just because they are not on top of the Wespac building shouting it out to the rest of the world doesn't mean that they are burying their heads in the sand about it.

There is absolutely no reason why they should be announcing everything they do publicly just because someone wants to be reassured about it.

So you'd prefer that they advantage an opponent just so you know if a player will miss games and how many?

Personally I'd be happy to not know anything if it helped the club in a small way.

Correct. We sometimes have very unrealistic views on what the cub should share with the public.

Settle princess. Clubs engagement is off the charts. You will get an updated injury list before we play again.

Lots of commentators noting a spike in hammy injuries across the comp. Be interested to see if the stats are kept anywhere.
They are, and the AFL publishes an annual report discussing injury trends across the league. Of course, today's trends won't appear until next year's report.

How exactly would an opponent be advantaged by stating Talia is 4 weeks. What do you really think the opposition will do differently? Their CHF would still prepare to play against a tough opponents and they'd find out on selection night whether Talia might be one of them.

The club has been a lot less prone to leaks since Fagan arrived.
For example, our new game plan was kept under wraps until the season began. Worked out okay so far. Clubs will be analysing what we are doing and how to find ways to counter us. By closing training sessions we denied them the chance to do that analysis in the off season.
The closure of information to the public is general and across injuries and the length of time players are expected to miss.
I'm for this. Keep doing it, Crows. Every advantage takes us closer to the Big Prize.

Overcome a hammy in 8 days? Please.
Totally agree. I was just looking for any updated news on his injury and that was the only one I found. Again, why or how would SBS news have it and no-one else....but I would like to dream that it is correct :)

Crows midfielder Rory Sloane disclosed today that Talia – who felt his right hamstring in the opening minute of Saturday’s 67-point win against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium – is already in training rather than stuck in the medical rooms at West Lakes.

“He had a run today. And if he gets up to speed tomorrow, he is very chance to play,” Sloane said. “It depends on how he pulls up tomorrow. But if there is an element of risk (he will miss against the unbeaten Tigers).”

Sloane also said
Adelaide is to detail later today the status of injured forward Riley Knight and defender Jake Kelly who missed the Gold Coast game to avoid a repeat injury after being poked in the eye against Essendon.

Jenkins is continuing to build up his training program to make his case for a return to AFL action.

My guess is none of the 4 will play Talia will just miss out and Knight has actually done his hammy

A lot of our hammy injuries appear to be tightness/soreness rather than actual tears. Could be possible to overcome that with treatment, wouldn't want to risk it like Cheney/Crouch did though.

We've got the team to beat Richmond without Talia. Don't want him rushed back and then have him out for 6 weeks or something.

Possible that it was not the hammy, but the muscle that was slightly strained. Won't surprise me if he plays or doesn't, but he'll certainly be back the following week at latest.

I said on the podcast that you only had to look at how he was running off and the kick that he did on his way off that told me that it possibly wasn't too bad. No way would he have been able to kick if he had of torn it.

"That is one we will just assess tomorrow. Obviously he came off the ground pretty tight on the weekend but we will give him every chance to play."

Sounds like he is talking about Knight, which is good news if so.

If the quotes from Sloaney are correct, then perhaps it ended up only being tightening. Talia did jog off to the best of his ability, which implies that the pain wasn't too significant. This is why there's no point the club rushing to make statements until the injury has settled and they can provide something resembling accurate information.

At this stage we don't know if it is a 4 week hamstring. If Richmond are still unsure that Talia could play this week then they will waste some resources planning for him. It may not be much time, but it will take up some of their planning time. That is time that they could be used to plan against other players.

I'm not suggesting that it will be a massive advantage, but why give our opponents any small advantage if we don't have to?

They'll plan for him right up until he's not listed in our 22 or amongst the 3 emergencies. It's really that simple.
