Interesting to see so many have North in the bottom few teams. The only player leaving who had a consistent positive impact was Boomer. The other 4 older guys who have left were average far more often than not.
Will definitley be a much younger side running out each week, so I don't expect us to make finals, but surprising seeing so many predict we will be bottom two or three.
Actually excited to see some of the younger guys get more game time. People say North have no good youth, yet Wood, Garner, Clarke, Dumont & Wagner have all shown great signs IMO. We'll see plenty more of them this year anyway.

There's always one bolter and one side that drops unexpectedly.
Port were premiership favs a few years back and it never came together.
Maybe they could be the smokey for top 4 is all i'm saying.

I like the Crows they are a good side but i think they proved to be a bit one dimensional this season.
Maybe some key trades will help in that area.

No good youth may have been an overstatement... But they most definitely don't have anyone who has proven they will be a star just yet.

Whic is what Ricciuto has stated the club will be looking to do.

We're not going to miss the 8 next year. We're on the way up, not down.

How Ironic the only poster not having the dogs in the four is coming from a Roo fan

Not that i don't rate them.
I just don't think they are a certainty to go back to back or even top 4.
Like others have said this flag felt very early for this group.
Teams will put work into the Dogs next year and figure you out.
Not to mention premiership hangover.

Nothing to do with being a Roos supporter.
You should get a harder draw next year and you will be the hunted not the hunter.
Just don't think top 4 is certain, finals yes but top 4 is still a maybe for mine.

But eighth? People said teams would work us out over the last offseason. I get everyone is allowed an opinion but just seeing you hate on the Dogs all year then see us at 8th was just something i wanted to query.

Look i won't lie i am not the biggest fan of the Dogs (Partly thanks to bigfooty)
But i still gotta respect what they accomplished this year.
I just had a hunch of a sort of scenario like what happened to WCE in 2016.
Looked irresistible in 2015 and made the GF, had they played anyone but Hawthorn probably would of won it that year.
Teams figured out their ''web'' and they kind of fell off the pace for many different reasons.

Can somebody start the trend that the dogs will be found out and won't make top 8. Worked out well for us
Bullies to drop out for port as they had a 1 off poor year... Again. ;)

Obvious bolter for 2017 is the pies. For all the crap they've copped this year, have a look at their record against the top 8 in 2016 -

Geelong - destroyed them

Gws - destroyed them at spotless

Eagles - very competitive 1st time round at subi despite final score line, and beat them comfortably at G 2nd time around

Dogs - had them on the rack 1st time round until injuries left pies with no rotations at all for last quarter and still only overrun in last 15 mins. Then lost to them by couple of pts in one of the games of the season

Crows - ultra competitive in close loss at Adelaide oval when crows were in a real purple patch

Roos - gave up a 6 goal start and scared the life out of them late

Hawks - 1pt loss

Swans - only genuinely poor effort against a top 8 side

So, their best is very very good. It is a matter of producing it more consistently . Less injuries, and Jamie Elliott actually playing a game will help that aspect. Could easily be top 4 in 2017

Top 8 possibly, top 4 seems a stretch.

Most likely side to make that kind of jump is St Kilda

Thought I should have a crack at this with something to look back on. Very confident with my top 2.

1 GWS - will win 2017 flag at half pace. The PF will burn an already excellent team.
2 Bulldogs - with less injuries next year won't have to do it from 7th. They are seriously good and only a hangover will stop them being near a GF.
3 Sydney
4 Geelong
5 St Kilda - big improvers
6 Melbourne - big improvers
7 West Coast - a good Bulldogs team made them look worse than they are but Nic Nat missing could hurt.
8 Essendon - could finish anywhere really but I think will play with a real determination and do well.

9 Collingwood
10 Hawthorn
11 Adelaide - severely overrated. Injuries would bury them.
12 Carlton - wanted to put them higher but the depth of good teams next year seems decent.
13 Fremantle
14 Gold Coast
15 Port Adelaide
16 North Melb - seems harsh, probably is.
17 Richmond
18 Brisbane
