Do essendon fans genuinely expect finals next year?
I think Essendon have a good fixture and probably the best squad they've had in over 10 years. I'm personally expecting something between 7th and 12th.

John Worsfold is one of the premier coaches in the AFL as well.

Essendon definitely have the list and draw to make finals next year, IMO. The question though will be how long it takes for their team to jell again with as many as 10 or more changes and also how long it takes the returning crew to adjust to how much the game has changed in the 18 months since they last played (when game plans were different and you could have 120 rotations a game, etc).

Yeah, also the younger players who were not involved in the saga will have a big say as well in how Essendon fares next year. If players like Parish, Z Merrett, Daniher, Fantasia and Langford play most games next year like they did this year they will probably continue to develop and improve which will go a long way for the Bombers making the top 8 and if Laverde and Francis play many more games next year than they did this year it would be a bonus.

Yes because Freo are Top 8 bound.
Mate, if you are going to continue repeating the same thing over and over about the Dockers making the 8 would you be kind enough to give me a detailed explanation on why you think that will happen? It's one thing to say it will happen, it's another if you can back it up which it seems you haven't done yet. And if you want my advice, more posters might start to believe your prediction if you do that.

But they are not going to make it. Freo will so will St Kilda.
Have you seen their draw?

I really like St.Kilda's list for the future and would've had them as a monty to make the top 8 before the fixtures came out, but receiving the 3rd hardest draw according to Champion Data will make it tough. If they play finals they will damn sure have earned it.

And North bottom 4.... I can only LOL
Why? It's where most of the bookies have you.

North have arguably the worst youth stocks in the league (just 10 AFL games combined from your last 2 crops of draftees [yes I know they've had injuries]) and once again drafted project-player flanker types in the 2nd/3rd rounds the other night who will struggle to make an immediate impact. You lost your best midfielder in Wells and lost a heck of a lot of experience through the "retirements" of Harvey, Dal Santo, Petrie and Firrito.

North's list doesn't look very good, certainly not for season 2017 anyway. An easy draw (probably THE easiest) is the only thing that may help you avoid bottom 4.

Because many people said that GWS won't make the 8 this year this time 12 Months ago, but look what happen, they made Top 4 and went straight to the Prelims.
