Bit surprised Whitfield hasn't done more so far.Griffen, or Whitfield?
I'd suggest neither one is necessarily in their top 5 salaries, and they're on a regular cap this year.

I actually forgot Armfield. I think we may promote a rookie and trade a future pick but you are right we won't want to be taking the last 3 or 4 picks in the draft
I wonder if SOS has talked to GWS about taking on the final year of Ryan Griffen's contract to gain a discount when acquiring a Jacob Hopper, Devon Smith or Matthew Kennedy type. He hasn't set the world on fire at GWS and is contracted for 2018, but would probably get a game with us.

I reckon the new guys are getting first dibs so they learn about the step up to AFL level, the guys like Graham and Cuningham know whats required and I think if we're patient we'll see them prosper (hopefullyWhat's happened to Cuningham? We saw him play a few games last season, but nothing this year. Is it talent, not working hard enough or something else?
We've already seen our new recruits ie. Samo, Macreadie, Williamson come in and hold their spots.
My 2 cents on Krueze .... I love Humphrey .... but would like to see him go hopefully in the following scenario .... good compensation for the club, he gets traded to a club that has a good chance for success and he is happy to go, abliet with a heavy heart.
I would dearly like to see him stay but the bottom line is that now when he is showing, finally (not his fault), what he is capable of, there are just way more pressing needs and his peak is now come at a time where it will be used up for nothing and then he will be a shell of this form when we are ready to launch.
It's a tough one for Humphrey and it breaks my heart but no player is bigger than the club and in the end a good trade for him will be a win/win for both player and club .... I and I would hope Humphrey could live with that.
"I love Humphrey but ....Lets get rid of him ... breaks my heart" A bit ruthless - you would probably sell the shirt off your own back....Wait

Bucks is a real tease. He shows glimpses of good footy, but then goes back to the Bucks we all know. I fear for him that this could be his last year.lt might help to keep Sumner in the game but I don't think he's good enough overhead to play back. Same goes for Bucks really.
No harm in putting him on a one year deal. As you say he's a young KPP that we have put alot of work into. With Jones gone at years end and who knows with Cas, then we'd be silly to delist him if you say he looks to have improved.Hasn't put a foot wrong so far this year, GP.
Out of contract at years end and the 4th won't be triggered, but I'd bank on him being retained.

Been told to work on his link up game. Very happy with workrate contested ball etc. Simply needs to find more outside ball. Otherwise fine. Just development
Ok, I'm gunna kill Bambi: Buckley has had plenty of opportunities but he won't make it. And being on a 1 year deal I believe he will be delisted at years end.Bucks is a real tease. SOS will most definately try to trade back into the second round. We still need as many high end picks we can get. Having said that, i'd be doing everything i could to get Hopper to Carlton. He'd improve our midfield big time. You have 11 players gone and that could yet come about.....and you haven't included Armfield nor any rookies.
Moving on players is one part of list management and bringing others in (better ones), is the other.
As things stand we have our 1st rounder (~#3) no second, 3rd rounder (~#45), 4th rounder (~#62) 5th rounder?......and then rookies.
Pretty slim pickings right now and we don't have much currency in players we're prepared to let go.
2+ for ones seem to be on the cards, a quality FA would be great and then the odd trade and a DFA or two.
Not ideal on face value, even if we do use next years first as the bait for getting who we want.
Another big year for SOS and co. Surprise us......

Gees Harks you made me choke on my cornflakes! Trade McKay? Not for love or money.....I have no doubt he'll be wanting to but with who?
We know Kreuzer doesn't want to go and it's possible that any Gibbs trade may be over.
I really don't think we have anyone else that would demand a high that we'd trade.
Would we consider trading one of our recent high draft picks.......McKay?

Well I'm sure SOS will explore plenty of options...just not this one : )Well. Imagine if we finish in a position we can take a key position forward that we'd love above all else (say Brander) and Adelaide are still keen on McKay.
I don't think for a minute that SOS wouldn't be open to all options...........and is McKay contracted? No, he's not.
Not saying it will happen but you always want to be upsizing and if someone like McKay allows us to do so, then why not?

Do you have a player in mind Pass?If a player retires mid season can you upgrade s rookie to take his spot?
