I hope Crumpet doesn't see that pic - Fyfe wearing long pants when everyone else has shorts on and nobody has their arm around him. The bloke just isn't a team player and they obviously all hate him. The sooner we offload him to the Saints the better. Then we can free up some salary cap so we can extend Subas and Danyle Pearce. :p

He was being sunsmart, protecting his legs.

I gave up listening to 6PR sports a while back due to the significant bias that arose, particularly last year by certain persons, but sometimes catch the 6PR breakfast show. As of today, they now have Hagdorn giving a sports update and, credit where credit is due, he had an opportunity to take a crack at Fyfe and the Dockers in the usual way but didn't. Basil and Millsy, the WCE stalwarts did but Hagdorn didn't bite. Was about Fyfe taking the mids to Rottnest. Chose not to spin it about buying votes for the captaincy or the absence of Mundy, which Basil was drooling about. Maybe it's a new years resolution? Or maybe he's realised he has put a third (?) of his potential listeners offside which is not that smart in a small town. Maybe he's lulling me into a false sense of security before he takes the gloves off again. Will be interested to see since the reporting got very biased to the point of ridiculous last year and it got very nasty on our board towards said person.

It would be okay if both clubs were dealt with the same scrutiny, honestly Simpson and his nepotism is rife at the eagles.
Will be funny to see them turn on him, if he leaves to coach his old club.
The shoe is on the other foot now, with the eagles recruiting old recycled players, and Fremantle looking longer term.

A few listeners have called in and had a major crack at Crumpet on air. Mostly to do with his bias against Freo, plus his inaccurate information. When questioned on his info on Barlow, Ballantyne, Neale and Mundy being wrong, he simply reminds the caller about how he broke the Sam Mitchell story.

I do miss Bob Maumil on Sunday though, as we now have the brother of a former Eagles number one ticket holder and staunch Fremantle hater (even though he lives opposite South Beach in South Freo) in his place. So the sports segment with Hagdorn on Sunday morning has now been replaced with Elvis Pressley classics instead.

For those readers struggling with the description of Anthony Morabito as: "The one-time potential Dockers pin-up" what he means is...er....what he probably means is...um...nup...I got nothing.

One wonders if Haggers bars up when he conjures up lines like that... Such a ****** silly campaigner.

They are both serious tool bag campaigners and hard to part but by the length of his nose hair Basil remains the bigger Richard Head. His smugness screams punch me now! The other morning I flicked over to the 6PR morning program only to hear him crack the same Shawshank redemption joke about the escapee Quokka about eight times in less than 5 mins. Even his partner told him to give it a rest.

His nose is the length of the straight at Flemington;I reckon it's closer than that.

The image of Basil's snorter blocked out the word hair so I didn't realise you'd said ito_O

I only post this article for two reasons:
(1) my earlier comment about hagdorn has not changed. He has again not taken ridiculous swipes at Freo like he has done for similar type articles in the past. Maybe someone smart has had a word to him over the break; and
(2) the person who starts a thread about Mitch McGovern getting to Freo next season which goes for 88 pages and results in nothing except pissing us and the Crows fans off all year will feel my wrath.

Of all the stupid things our recruiters can be accused of, not taking the McGoverns is at the top of the heap.
Jeremy was the mistake as he went in the rookie draft. We could have easily picked him up.

Mitch went at pick pick 43 which means we would have had to forgo Blakely to get him.

Eagles made the bigger mistake with Mitch as they choose Lamb over him. Both similar players, just one difference. Mitch is actually good.

We could've got Mitch the year before he was drafted I think.

Here's the background on Mitch. It seems it would've taken a big punt to get him the previous year even in the RL but you'd think with the close connection that WC or Freo would've known enough to take that punt. Both clubs stuffed up but WC taking Lamb and not McGovern is criminal in hindsight.

Blakely's solid but he will never be as good as Mitch McGovern. Talls with Mitch's skillset are very rare. He is going to be an absolute super star.

I'd also argue that Mitch was a bigger mistake. He was right under our nose and was expected to go around our pick. He desperately wanted to come to Freo and we told him we'd take him with our second rounder too.

I expect the Eagles will get him next year but Adelaide will certainly do everything to hold onto him. I hope he has a change of heart but from what I've heard he's not very fond of Freo anymore.

Nope can't agree with you, lots of kids are told (truthfully) that they are under consideration. Blakely's has been everything we could expect and more, training the house down and is in the more important position. Blakely was not expected to be available at our second pick, hence why he got picked, simples.

The other McGovern and not taking him was a total f-up that we will live to regret (if not already).

Blakely has been good but McGovern has been better. IMO Mitch has more upside too - watch him become as good if not better than Jeremy.

Agree to disagree here. Mitch was a much more obvious choice, especially after missing Jeremy and seeing how capable Jeremy had become. Missing Mitch was like making the same mistake twice.

Not necessarily - the Eagles were all over the Selwood family but found there was only one Joel.

You might also struggle to recall G Ablett's little brother?
